Good update on Carina!

It was 8 PM by the time I got her back home but the news are good. The mass the vet saw in the X-rays showed as an enlarged spleen in the ultrasound. Her chest and stomach are clear.
She'll have surgery to remove the spleen on Monday, which the vet says is a very routine operation (isn't it amazing how they try to reassure you after they scare the hell out of you?)
He'll do the surgery in the evening and Carina will have to stay overnight with an IV. I hope to be able to bring her back on Tuesday.
Thanks again for all your prayers and good thoughts from both of us.

I'm taking her to the vet's at 2 PM and he'll do the surgery in the evening, when the office is quiet. It will be tomorrow morning before I can get any news.:(
