Israel has developed the world's first Alzheimer's guide dogs.
They needed a dog that when the person became confused,
could guide them back "Home". They tried several different
breeds and it seems somewhat apropos that they ended up
using a Collie (Lassie come home:)). Aw the wonderfulness
of dogs. They never cease to amaze me with all they'll do
for us out of love.

Hopefully we'll adopt this program here in the US too. Here's
a link to the article, with a pic of Polly the Collie:

What a fantastic thing to read about. Oh I do hope we in the U.S. can follow up with this idea. There is no reason in the world these wonderful dogs & ideas can't end up worldwide. Thank you, thank you Par for posting this. I hope everyone can take a look at this article :) I for one will be forwarding it to several different people. Thanks again Par.

Proves that smooth collies really ARE the best. :)
I really hope we can get this program into the US! What a wonderful story. :)
