I have a four month old chihuahua female . She is a new experience for me . Her name is Tiny and she is full of spirit ,loving and sweet . She scared me by having an episode of reverse-sneezing the second day I had her . My sister says they do that once in a while (she has had chihuahuas for a long time ). Tiny has been a joy to me , but I'm just learning about chihuahuas. So far what I have learned is that I wish I had owned one a long time ago ! She likes to make us laugh, it seems to make her happy . She plays so cute ! Are there any chihuahua owners out there that could tell me about their chihuahuas ? :)

Tiny is adorable, we need more pics ;)

my mother and i are owned by a Chihuahua, Theodore (as Micki mentioned :D ) he is 16 months old and is a real clown of a dog, and extremly active for a little fella. he is currently training in Obedience, Flyball, and some Agility.

Thank you for your pictures of Theodore. How did you train him to catch the ball like that ? Tiny will go get a toy but wants to play tug-of-war ! She has not learned to catch a toy yet , but I'm hoping . I would like to see more Theodore pictures when you get more .:) :) :) :D

as for teaching him to catch the ball we started him out very young (he was 12 weeks old when he came home) and we wanted him to be ball crazy (for Flyball) so we just started out rolling the ball to him and he would go after it, then he would be given LOTS of praise, and eventually we started to bounce the ball off the wall and he just caught on to catching it , and now he is a Pro and can leap into the air to catch the ball :) *terribly proud of my boy*

TugOwar is a great game , but the human must ALWAYS win and perseverence is the key if you keep tiny's interest in playing with the toys and balls she will catch on quite quickly.

I have to say that Tiny is the cutest little thing!!!! Keep more pictures and more stories about Tiny coming! I do not have a Chihuahua, I have April, a Shihtzu, that I have told you about before. Thank you for your comments about her. She told me to give you a lick for that, but I told her that I would just say thank you and send you a smile for it! :D I think Tiny and my April would have lots of fun together, since they both have such personalities. What an adorable chi baby. We have our weesome threesome and wouldn't trade them for anything. We have our handsome young man, Ricky at 3 1/2 years old, Lucy Tu, our comical character and very much a Daddy's girl at 2 years old and little Desi Lu, a force to be reckoned with at 6 months.

Today, Desi Lu is in surgery getting spayed but I am sure she will be up to her old mischief in no time.

It was great to hear from you again, Tiny's mom! Yes, as you guessed, April is good natured and happy to be with children, cats and other dogs. For April, a cat is one of her very best friends! Even a baby duck! She is great with every living creature. I have had April since she was 5 1/2 weeks old. She was a bottle baby from birth. I Can't remember what the circumstances were that she had to bottle feed, but she is an angel baby for sure. Thanks so much for your interest, and pet Tiny's pretty little head for me. You really have a nice family of loveable babies. Kate is a beautiful girl with the loveliest blue eyes!!! I have April, the Shihtzu that is under my name to the left here, who in this picture is "praying". First she sits up, but we call that sitting pretty. Seems like she can do this for five minutes at a time! Then she puts her little pays together as she sits pretty and steals our hearts all over again. But she steals mine all over again with each day that passes and with every funny, cute, and loving thing she does, as I am sure you are familiar with this feeling with all that you have there to love. I miss having feline babies! I had three boys for a long time who were spoiled so very rotten but was such entertainment to watch the three of them play togther. We moved from the house we had lived in for most of the time we had them and one by one they all just diappeared. I had my favorite was Smokey, a Blue British Shorthair. I was in despair over him for a year, before i began to heal. Everywhere I went for the longest time, my eyes scanned everything we passed, as I hope to see these three boys again. I wanted to tell you that even Shihtzus have those episodes with reverse sneezing. My April has never had a problem with this, but i have a friend that has several Shihtzus and I was present during one of these episodes. They are very scary. I hope you have learned more about them, and are able to calmly help her when this occurs and are less afraid when this happens. I have really enjoyed the pictures you have provided here of her, she is a darling. I would love to hear everything about her and your beautiful Siamese and the others in this family. :)

Thank you for answering my questions about April. It is nice to see that she is such a good little baby . I have a nine yr old schnauzer. She gets along fine with other animals too but does not seem to like children very well . Jojo is a sweet little dog except for that one thing . That has been the hard thing about her . When i got her she had some head ons with some rough children and i have had a hard time getting her out of the fear that she developed at that time, but she has softened towards them more with my sweet grandson's influence . I will pet Tiny for you . She likes all the petting she can get . I love that picture of April and the baby duck ! How cute! :D

I believ with frequent exposure to children, especially with your little grandson, JoJo will become more comfortable in the presence of children. It is understandable that she is frightened by children when she has had such an experience with children of the rambunctious type. I think that even if she is nine, that this can get better. :)

I know this is not directed at me, but no, that is not a muzzle he's wearing I don't think. It looks like a halti to me, I have one for my husky also. What is does is just make it so when you walk the dog they can't pull. It doesn't hurt the dog, nor does it "muzzle" them as they can still open their mouths just fine. :)

I believe he's around 4 months old. I'm sure he'd love to play with Tiny! :D The dogs in my signature are Reggie and Nebo. Reggie is a 10 year old schnauzer (he just has a short haircut right now) and Nebo is a 1 1/2 year old siberian husky. I also have a 17 year old poodle named Smokey, but he didn't want to pose for the photo. Here's a pic of Nebo and Joey. :)

I seen the picture of your grandmothers new baby, I love it, the long haired variety are really beautiful dogs, my little buffy, she is a short haired chihuahua, has had some beautiful long hair chihuahua puppies, funny though I never have the chance to keep one myself. That little Tiny is an adorable little baby, she has such beautiful and unusual markings, that little black ear is so cute, and really goes great with her nose. :D , the little black eyes and the little black nose is just beautiful. She looks white with one black ear. I just looked at your album, you really have some beautiful pictures in there of all your babys, cats, dogs, puppies too. That Jojo is really beautiful. I lovvvveeee the cats.
cloverfdx I seen your pictures of lil man, he looks so playful. He makes me think of a chihuahua I once had, and yeah you guessed it, his name was lil man. I adored him, my first baby Tito, gave birth to him and 5 other puppies, well she gave birth to 2 and she died as the vet was pulling up into the parking lot of his office, I really tried so hard to get him to let me bring her in sooner, but he just wouldn't do it, so he took the rest of the puppies by c-section after she died. The puppies died off one by one for the next two week, except lil man, he was the first born. I had to feed him and take a warm cloth to make him do his duties, and give him a bottle, got very attached to my lil man, didn't think I could because my baby Tito died having him, but I did, I fell in love with him, he would sleep with his little tongue sticking out. About 3 to 4 months after he was born, he was sitting with me on the couch and fell and hit his head on the edge of the coffee table, he died a few hours later, the vet just couldn't save him. I just felt so angry, because I thought that at least I would get to keep him, and still have part of my little Tito. Oh well.
But I wanted more than anything to tell you how cute and beautiful your lil man is. I loved the picture where he is jumping and catching the toy.

I kind of had a setback about making people upset with the size of my pictures (signature) I never meant to make people unhappy with my pictures . I got some help from two very nice people and now maybe no one will feel bad about my pictures . I love all of your pictures that you put in here ,they are all so pretty ! Makes me want one like each of them ! I have such a weakness towards pets . They bring me back up when I'm feeling down . They are angels of happiness for me .

I think that animals can sense when we are feeling unhappy or when we are sick, Lindsey my 17 year old that rescued Grover for me, used to have a Chihuahua, by the name of Bart, and anytime she go sick, he was right there sleeping on top of her. She lost that little dog when she was nine years old, it wondered out to somebodys elses house and they gave it to their aunt, who gave it to her daughter. We posted pictures in the newpaper and offered reward for his safe return,(and think about this, I had put a tattoo in his ear, so he would be easily known by us) and the first person told us he had gaven it to his aunt, we went to her and she told us that it had been there, but had ran off, and was probably dead. Then we go a call from an unknown person that told us this woman had given the dog to her daughter. I has a deputy sheriff go down and question the people and found out that the daughter gave it back to her mother and then sold it to a man in Alabama, and when we called him he said it had ran off. He was going to use Bart as a breeder, I don't know if Bart actually ran away or not, but the Sheriff's deputy ( who knew the woman that took it from my little girl) told us we just as well leave it alone. This old woman stood right in front of my little nine year old daughter who was crying her little eyes out, and told her that her little dog ran off from her house and was probably dead by that time. :( :mad: I was so very angry when I finally found out the truth. Her daughter and me had a very heated conversation on the phone where I told her, he mother would go to hell taking a very loved puppy from a child. My little girl left a letter to Santa asking him to please bring Bart back to her, that was all she wanted for Christmas, it broke my herart because I knew she would never get her little friend back, that took such good care of her when she was sick or sad. But yes dogs and cats do sense our emotions, or at least thats what I think and believe. So I know that Tiny does give you a lot of happiness and joy, so just go ahead and call her tiny clown. :D

Tiny's mom, I know you know how precious all your babies are, but for the record, I want to tell you that they are all beautiful and I see each of their unique personalities in the pictures that you post. I'm so happy that you have all of them to love and be loved by, and that they are there to minister to you emotionally. I have the same gift from my little April alone. She is the one out of all of ours that fills my life in the same way that you describe of all your little babies. Yes, I love Floyd and Lil' Ann, but Floyd is kind of set in his ways, and I really wander if he will ever allow touch or show any kind of affection? After all, he is eighteen years old. Then there is Lil' Ann. I am not able to get real close to her because as soon as she sees me she nearly knocks me down, and it would be too bad if I were to end up with a broken hip on top of all the other things that keep me down. I was a bit angry with Ann for awhile; months actually. She broke free from where we were keeping her several months ago, broke into where we kept the big beautiful "Butter", the duck in the picture in my signature. My son , Blake and I were very close to Butter and had him since he was a tiny little yellow duckling. It just seemed so violent. Since so many months has passed, I find myself caring for Ann and loving her, even though I just didn't want to after she did what she did to Butter. Here I can some what relate to the losses that Grover's mom describes in her story so well. I love your stories about your babies, Grobver's mom, I could read them all day. I felt the sorrow you described as I read it. Please keep your stories and pictures coming. And Tiny's mom; you write about your deep love for your babies in such a beautiful way, that I can almost see into your heart. Please don't be discouraged anymore about the problems with your pictures and our peers reactions. I was in that boat too, but it is behind us. We are new here; what could anyone expect in the beginning? Perfection? No, and really, they didn't. I think that you add great things to pet talk so don't give up! You have too much to offer here. To this I am sure everyone will agree. :) So perk up, and tell us more! Attach more pictures for all of us to see.

Tray & anothiona , thank you for your replies . I feel terrible for the heartbreaking loss of your pets that you have suffered . I have lost some too , that I loved very much ! Those sweet loving creatures stay in our hearts forever ! Their memories keep bringing us joy and sadness . Oh , but I'm glad I had my time with the ones that will be in my heart forever .
I'm sorry for a little girl having to suffer like that over her puppy , it is even worse that an adult was the cause of it . For someone to steal a pet of a child or an adult is shameless ! But that was a child's pet ! Cruel thing to do !

April sounds like a real dollie! I just love sweet little lap dogs. I don't know why I decided to go with bigger dogs instead - guess you can't have your cake and eat it too! I know what you mean about cats disappearing - that happened with some of our cats that we had years ago. No clue what ever happened to them! Once we adopted 3 kittens, and we had them indoors, and one day during a thunderstorm they just vanished!!!! We checked the floor vents and closets and everywhere. They never did turn up - ???

My chihuahua is the first dog of such small size I have ever owned . Like you, I don't know where to find clothes that small ! I know I have got to come up with something before cold weather sets in . I can tell when there is a chill in the air she starts shaking . I guess I'm going to try to sew her some little clothes and tailor them for her . So far i wrap her in a baby blanket when she is cold . :)

I heard that there was a pattern for making them sweaters out of tube socks! I'm going to do an internet search and if I find one, I'll post it!

edit: I just tried to find it. The only thing I found was a reference that said "Used the cuffed part for the neck, and cut holes of the appropriate sizes in the appropriate places for the legs.

Hmmmm - I don't have a chihuahua here to measure! If you make these successfully, can you measure out the locations and sizes of the leg holes?

It would be so cute to use different types of holiday socks, wool socks, argyle etc. etc.

There are patterns that you can either knit or crochet, that are good, but the tube sock would work fine, my youngest daughter always used socks as sweaters for her babies.
Now my older daughter was finally talked into taking chihuahua for a pet, now they have her spoiled rotten, they dress her up for Halloween (as a bat or an angel) and here is a picture she took of some kind of sweater she put on hers. Her chihuahua is a long haired chihuahua, she is very beautiful, of course her mother is my Buffy.

I'm sorry about the lost cats . I know how hard that is ! I once had a sheltie that our neighbor stole out of our yard and gave away to someone in another town . Tiny is always sweet - she wants to play on me,sleep on me and love on me . She does not think I should do anything else but entertain her . She likes to crawl into the sleeves of my robe while I'm on the computer ,with her nose sticking out at my wrist . She is now learning to fetch the ball. She sure loves that game !

Tiny is always coming up with cute things to amuse me . Last night she came up with a new game ! I was just sitting around watching her play . She comes running up to me and I shoved her forward in front of me like she was a toy car ,she runs a circle back to me and wants me to shove her forward again .She kept that up for an hour ! (Where does she get this energy ?! ) she was so cute ! When I take her outside for her walk, on a leash ,she likes to run circles around me fast as she can . I just keep changing her leash from hand to hand . She loves this and she gets some good exercise. As you can see by now she is a funny puppy . She does keep me laughing and amazing me with something new . She's my clown puppy .:D

I really don't know what kind of siamese Sunny is . I got his mother from a pound; they were fixing to put her to sleep . She looked like a long-haired version of siamese, and Sunny's dad looked like a ragdoll type of siamese . All I know he is a sweetheart !:D

It's not a sarcastic face. It's an eye-rolling face. I take it to be the same thing as rolling your eyes and laughing when your kid or you dog does something silly and cute.

I was telling her that my dog Pepper does the same thing her dog does. It's a cute, silly thing to do. When Pepper does it, I laugh and roll my eyes at her. Wouldn't you?

Thanks. She's a goofy little thing. She is chihuahua and smooth fox terrier, most likely. She was abused when I got her, and it took her a long time to come out of her shell. But she's a trooper now.






What problems have you had with chihuahuas?

The only thing that really comes to mind is luxating patella, a problem with the knee cap. It is somewhat common in small dogs.

Remington is beautiful, I love the dark eyes and the black nose. I do love Chihuahuas, they are such a loyal breed, and the saying about their courage is true. I guess you know that already though don't you? If they were the size of a Doberman........, But yes I love the markings on Remington. Hope I spelled that right, if I didn't I am sorry. My memory doesn't last from one page to the next. LOL.
I must say Pepper is a real cutie, but I guess you know that too. :) Well I have told you things you already knew, so I guess I will be quite. LOL:) ;) :D

I am not very computer savvy either. Those huge pictures are real slow to load on dial-up modems. Thank goodness PT makes them the right size after they get here!

I use the PictureIt microsoft program that comes free at walmart when you have them make a disc. It is real cheap, like $3.84 to have a roll of 35mm developed onto a CD, no prints. They give you an index of little pictures with the disc.

Then when you put the CD in your computer there is a slide show, and you can resize any picture to JPEG or the right size to e-mail (40-140 K), it's in format. It's a simple program to learn!

Lolita (Lola for short) is full of spunk. She is a very mellow dog but can assert her self with other dogs quite nicely. She is very social with other dogs as well. In the last few weeks she has been barking at strangers at the door and sometimes at other dogs(usually big dogs). She is alot of fun. How is your chi. Tiny's temperment? Alot of my friends have chi's. and each are totally different. A friend of mine just purchased a stud for Lola to mate with, he's a white long haired chihuahua, it'll be awhile though, he's only 8 weeks old...

My mom just got a new chi this week. She has a little 2.2 lb female named Chloe, and now she got her a little "brother". Mom says he's about 3/4 lbs! She's trying to decide on a name. He has huge attitude, so she's thinking maybe "Harley" or "Vinnie". Any suggestions?

Thanks to all of you . I really love hearing about your sweet babies . I think all dogs have different personalities . Like humans are different .
My tiny is sweet little baby too. She seems to go through changes every day . I thought she was never going to stop the constant chewing !:rolleyes:
Now that she almost 6 months old she has slowed down on the chewing ,and became more of a snuggle bug .:)
She barks when she hears sounds outside . Barks at people when they come to the door , if they come in , she is up in their laps licking them !:p
She is full of energy ! I have no idea how that little tiny body has so much energy stored in it !
She is always doing funny things . She seems to get happier ,when she makes me laugh !

:) I am grateful to God today as well as yesterday, as today I had a relatively pain-free day. I have never mentioned my problems on here with the four bulging discs and degenerative arthritis I have, but a pain-free day doesn't come often for me, and when it does, I am most thankful for it. I kind of rested and took it easy today after all the work in preparing yesterday's Thanksgiving feast with the help of a family member; that had done me in yesterday! But things have been good today, and I relaxed and enjoyed my sweet little April, giving her the belly rubs that she loves so much. She had a great day also. She stretches and looks like she is in such bliss as I give her belly rubs . .:)

I have been making sweaters for Tiny. Four so far, from socks and doll clothes. The cheerleader outfit is cute, but the skirt won't stay down!

Sunny likes to look at tiny while she sleeps. He will stop what he is doing and go check on her. He didn't like her at first. I was afraid he would hurt her. I think he might like her a little bit now. I still watch Sunny closely, when he is with her. I'm not as afraid as I was.
