next week. She is a big girl now at 6 months (2 lbs 7ozs) and since we aren't breeders and don't want to be, she is going for her surgery on Wednesday.
We are also having the stray cat Ethel spayed at the same time. She has one kitten that is about 3 months old and it looks like she may be in the early stages of another pregnancy which we do not want for her. I think she might have had as many as 4 before but 3 were killed by loose dogs in neighborhood. We finally have her where she will come to us (I think the time we caught her and got her infected leg fixed last month bonded her to us).

Will say a few extra prayers for Desi Lu for Wednesday's
surgery & for a quick recovery for her. Hugs to the BIG girl,
all 2 lb 7 oz. of her....:D And, btw, thank you, thank you so
much for including Ethel in your plans. {{{Hugs}}} That is
such a sweet, kind & loving thing to do for her.:) I'm sure
she would thank you herself if she could.:)

Just talked to the Vet's assistant and Ethel and Desi Lu are doing okay. Both did fine during surgery and we can pick them up tomorrow morning.
Ethel did not have kittens in her yet like we feared so that was good. She did have hook worms and they took care of that. She got her shots and she is good to go. We will take Fred (her mate) in next week and her kitten whom we have now named Sydney will be spayed in December.
Desi Lu is going on a rally tomorrow with us in the motorhome but she will be fine. She loves to be in her crate and we had already set up to go. Fortunately it is only 50 miles from here so she won't have to travel long. We never leave the weesome threesome when we go on a RV rally as they love them so.
One more thing about Desi Lu. They took my advice and put her under anesthesia before they attempted to take her harness off. We are still working on that but she really hates anyone taking it off.

Glad they're both doing good. :) Have a good time at the rally and give them both some kisses from me! :D

Let's see, how many more characters were there on I Love Lucy? Will you run out of names or pets first? :D LOL

We have Ethel & Fred's kitten and we just couldn't think of another name from that show so she is just Sydney.

along with Miss Ethel (cat). Both are fine. Just for the record.. does anyone know how many stitches it takes to fix a chihuahua? 3
Her Vet helped me pick out a more suitable harness for her and she is very happy now. No more getting upset over having to wear it or having it taken off. We were fortunate to find a Vet that is so good with little dogs as well as big ones. So often you run across Vets that only think in one size.

Anyway, they are both resting now and Ethel is very happy to be back with her kitten.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes

Yay! Good news! I know you're so happy to have them both home. :)

That's also great about the harness. :) I too, have a wonderful vet and its a comfort to know that he likes all animals. He treats literally any kind of animal!

MHMama,

Great news on all fronts.:D Sounds like you have a very special
Vet. I'm so happy that all went well with the surgeries AND he/
she was able to come up with an alternative harness for Desi.
Now Desi Lu's happy, Ethel & her kitty are happy. :) Have a
wonderful trip when you go to the rally. I love good news.:D
