Thought I'd give you an update on Sydney and Baby Sara.
Both are doing incredibly well, although Sydney has started sneezing and eyes watering. I put her on Clavamox pills, much to her disliking. I hope it'll stop it in it's tracks.
Baby Sara is getting big and has started eating canned kitten food on her own, although she LOOOOOOOVES the titty every chance she gets. I think Sydney is losing her milk because her teets are small. But that doesn't stop that little spitfire!!
Once Sara is old enough, she'll go back to the shelter and put up for adoption. Sydney is going to stay with me and be listed on Petfinder.com, although I'd LOVE to keep her. Right now I'm in a real financial bind so it's just fostering, where if anything happens to her, the shelter will foot the vet bill.
I'll post more pictures soon, when I'm feeling better.

Now they are both sneezing, and Sydney's nose is stuffed up. I've been using "Little Noses" on her to try and help her breath. It's pediatric nose drops made out of saline. She's on Clavamox pills and Baby Sara is on Clavamox Liquid. I'm so glad they're away from my cats. I just hope this thing passes quickly.

Sick or not... it's so CUTE to see baby Sara toddling quickly to the door as soon as you enter the room. :D
Get better soon Sydney and Sara. :)

Things are going better for both. Sydney and Sara have both quit sneezing. Sara still has an ookey eye. But neither are congested anymore (YAY!!!).
I don't mind keeping them in my spare room till Sara is old enough to be adopted out.
HOWEVER...(ahem) I'm still torn between adopting Sydney or just fostering her till she gets a home. She is such a wonderful, loving cat who adores her belly scratched and to be held while she kneads into my arms. I'm working 2 jobs now in an effort to catch my car payments up and survive on the salary I'm being paid at my regular job. I've noticed that I've been buying about 2 LARGE bags of Science Diet a month to feed all the cats. I'm really beginning to fall in love with her. She's beautiful (I have a thing for torties...My Mollie Rose is 9 and she's a tortie). It breaks my heart to think that Sydney would be sitting in a shelter waiting to get adopted when there are actually 3 other tories just like her who haven't found homes. I've also noticed that cats that are fostered don't get homes as quickly as cats who are on "view" at the shelter.
So, what do I do?? Wait till the shelter has her neutered and ask about keeping her or just keep on fostering her, letting them pick up the tab for the vet bills and food???
Your input is welcomed.

I haven't been a member for very long but it is easy to see how much everyone loves their furkids. After reading your last post I felt my heart break for you. We have 9 furballs now because I can't turn any of them away and after caring for them (even briefly) I can't bear the thought of giving them up. Even if it is to a loving home! Financially we have reached our limit (not to mention space) and that sucks. It sounds like you are going above and beyond the call of duty now with a second job and all. It is so hard to love these little critters and want to give them what they deserve only to be stopped by the almighty dollar! I will be in the same boat if another lost furry soul comes my way. The only comfort is knowing that when the time comes for a decision you will make the right one. You have to do what is best for you and the kitty.
Good luck and I think God sends special blessings to those who care so much. http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/smile.gif

CCL,
You're absolutely right. I guess if my Higher Power wanted me to keep her, he wouldn't have given me the ability to trap her.
I spent some time in there this afternoon with both and am sort of leaning towards keeping her. Baby Sara will find a home quickly because she's still a kitten.
I'm going to take the "wait and see" attitude. If it's meant to be, then so be it.

Great news!!!
It looks like Sydney may have a furrever home in Kalamazoo, MI!!! My friend came to visit today and said her roommate is looking to adopt a cat, not a kitten because they're too hyper.
She saw Sydney and immediately said she would be perfect for her friend. I e-mailed Faith (the friend) and sent her a picture of Sydney. I know this will be a great home because this girl waited a whole year till she was able to support a cat to finally decide to adopt. Anyone who does that is very responsible in my book. Plus she doesn't believe in declawing and will keep Syd as an indoor only kitty! Sydney will live in a renovated farmhouse with a screened in porch and sunroom.
YIPPPEEEEEEEE!!!! I'll let you know how it goes. She probably won't get her for a couple of more weeks till Baby Sara is weaned and Sydney gets spayed.

This is wonderful news. Your friend's roommate sounds like she will be just the right person to adopt Sydney. And Sydney will have a perfect place from which to watch the birds and squirrels. :) And when you visit your friend, you will be able to visit Sydney too.
I hope everything goes smoothly and that a good home is found for little Sara, too. You have been wonderful, Donna, to care for both of them.

I knew something good would happen!!!http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/smile.gif You were so kind, loving, and concerned for those kitties. It takes a very special person to foster because healing them and then giving them up is a very hard thing to do! I would like to say thanks to you and all those who do foster care. http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/biggrin.gif I think your special and I'm so glad it turned out the way it was meant to!!!
