I'm having a Halloween party this year. The plan is to focus on the kiddies from 6pm-8:30. After that, my little sister will *attempt* to tend to the children while the adults enjoy themselves. We're also going to pitch tents and have a camp out to discourage drinking and driving.
Anyways, any good games, decoration, or recipe ideas? And advice on how to control the kids, especially after 8:30? I was thinking a few movies and popcorn.

--A SPECIAL CAT RECIPE - KITTY LITTER CAKE!
(Created by Mike and Linda Will)
At least once a year I have to share this recipe
with you - just so you won't forget about it and
just in case some of the newer readers haven't
seen this yet. To some of you it will be totally
"gross" but to others it will be a fun thing to
do and a good joke. So, if you've seen this
before and don't approve, that's okay, just pass
it on by and get to the next article. It's all meant
to be in good fun. (No scolding e-mails, please, okay?)
So, if you're ready to bake - show the world what
a "purr-fect" cook you are.
--INGREDIENTS:
--1 spice or German chocolate cake mix (include
ingredients listed in mix)
--1 white cake mix (include ingredients listed in mix.)
--1 pkg. white sandwich cookies
--1 large pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix (include
ingredients listed on mix.
--green food coloring
--12 small Tootsie Rolls
--1 brand new and clean kitty litter box
--1 brand new and clean kitty litter box liner
--1 brand new and clean kitty litter scoop
--DIRECTIONS:
--1. Prepare cake mixes according to package directions.
(Any size cake pans.)
--2. Prepare pudding mix according to package directions
and chill until ready to use. Crumble white sandwich
cookies in small batches in blender. (Scrape often,
they tend to stick.) Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To
this 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops of green
food coloring and mix using a fork or by shaking in
a jar.
--3. When the cakes are cooled to room temperature,
crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of
the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled
pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding.
Mix it with the cake and feel it; you don't want it
soggy, just moist. Gently combine.
--4. Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture
into litter box.
--5. Put three unwrapped Tootsie Rolls in a microwave
safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape
ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.
Repeat with 3 more Tootsie Rolls and bury these in
the mixture.
--6. Sprinkle the other half of the cookie crumbs over
the top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly
over the top. This is supposed to resemble the
chlorophyll in the litter.
--7. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time in the
microwave until almost melted. Spread them on top of
the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Or, only
spread 5 of the remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top.
Take one and heat until pliable, and hang it over the
side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly
with cookie crumbs.
Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the
cookie crumbs around. Serve with the new scoop. Enjoy!
OK... my dear readers.... Real cat lovers won't get too
grossed out, right?
This is a real recipe with real food, and is a lot of
fun to make and is delicious to eat! But the real fun
of it all is watching the reactions of other people as
they look at for the first time, and then realize what
it is. Their reactions will range from "How GROSS, I
can't believe you'd make such a thing!" to "Oh, isn't
that CUTE!" Can I have the recipe!

When i was younger i went to alot of Halloween parties, i rememeber they would call this drink the Witches cauldron and it was gingerale mixed with fruit punch, and your put gummy worms in it and that kind of stuff, you can also by those candy eye balls and put it in the drink. :D
For a meal the kids would have 'pizza pumpkins'
That was bagels with melted cheese and tomato sauce on it and they would put the peperoni to look like a smile and a eyes and stuff.
Then we would cut holes in a bottom of an orange, take all of the orange out and put pudding in it and cut eyes and a mouth to make it look like a pumpkin
You can make Mummy Dogs: Hot dogs wrapped with breadstick dough and two dots of mustard for the eyes
Or Hands Floating in Blood: Fill several Laytex gloves with water or Sprite and freeze. Float them in a big bowl of red punch. This'll chill the drink while freaking everybody out.
You can buy a helium tank from Walmart for less than $20 and use it to inflate black and orange balloons. To each balloon, attach long metallic ribbons so your guests have to walk through the strings. (i got that one off interenet)
For the kids You can make Jacko-lantern balloons -Jack-O-Lantern Balloons: by drawing with magic markers all sorts of creative designs on black and orange balloons.
(off interent)
Trick or Treat Bags: You'll need white or orange pillowcases, fabric paint, glue, plastic jewels, and Halloween stamps. Have the kids decorate their pillowcase trick or treat bags with the colored stamps and jewelry.
(off interent)
For treats you can get latex gloves and put popcorn in it
lol as u can see i love planning parties hahha

I couldn't find the pics of My moms haunted hallway (4yrs back).
Max would stay in his chair with Devil horns on & I would stand very still in the porch with my rat, Rattus (a white female), on my shoulder.
Rattus would stay very still & when kids would ask my mom if I was real, Rattus would move & they would scream & then I would go BOO & they would scream more hehehee...
I don't know how many kids ran out of the porch without candy. I always went up to their parents & handed them the candy, cause lots of the kids ended up crying when I came out of the porch, thinking I was gonna get them.
But I didn't do it to anyone under 7ish, I greeted them & they would pet Rattus & my mom gave them candy.
After we were out of candy, I would head to my neighbours houses looking for some candy myself. The neighbours always made me a special homemade treat bag mmmmmm
Mind u my buddies dad wasn't a fan of rats, so I chased him around his house with her heheh, then he went into the gun closet & I stopped chasing him.. He came out pointing a LONG Barrel Kitty Shotgun hehhe...
get it?? he was holding his cat like a shotgun, u can pump a cat & make the shotgun reloading sound hehehehe..
My mom had 3 giant fake rats that had huge fangs & just looked evil. She got them in the USA for 7 bucks each. I would put fake blood on them & put the fake squeeky hand in one of the rats mouth. The squeeky is a dog toy, its a hand holding a dog treat. It was hard keeping RB Max from chewing it into nothing.
My mom also made life sized Mummies, a life sized Frakenstine, a giant ugly Volture & 1/2 a witch (it wasn't finished but 1/2 was good enough). One mummy was about 5 feet tall & the other was 6 feet tall, the Frankenstine was about 7 feet tall. She mad all but one Mummy by herself (a neighbour wanted her to help her make one & when the neighbour moved she gave it back to my mom).
They were all made out of "paper mashai" (I have no idea how to spell it), - glue-newspapers-water & flower. She used balloons to shape heads & hands, she used chicken wire & wood to make a body frame. & used old rags for the mummies. She used cheap house paint, to paint them since they were soooo big. She used old boots & old gloves for Frankenstine.
It takes a month to make 1 big monster, so u should get started now :)
oh also scary haloween music works

that's foul. and, the litter box one is pretty rancid, too. but, FUN FUN FUN!!!!! I remember when I was in high school, I helped with a community halloween party. There were these boxes (or you can do it in the dark) that were decorated and had bowls of different items in them. You had to stick your arm through a hole in the box and feel what was in it. You can either label the boxes or have someone at each box letting people know what they're touching. I remember peeled grapes being eyeballs, portobello mushrooms being ears.....ummmm.....i'm sorry, I can't remember any other ones!

another kinda gross idea....
Potty Jello
Purchase the plastic bowl that fits in a child's potty training chair Wash the bowl and prepare lemon jello per
package directions. Float miniature O-Henry bars in it, refrigerate, and
serve.
And, I would think there were other candy bars that would work. :)

I had a Halloween party when I was little. The few things I remember where:
Making haunted ginger bread houses. You could use gram crackers or make the ginger bread and cute the pieces. Get orange and black frosting. (or any other colors) Get different candies, like the gummys with the faces and different 'scary; Halloween candy.
Two words: Ghost Stories. I loved them when I was little! (and still do!) Look online to see if you can find any, look at a library, or make them up yourself.
I'll try to remember more!
