what is your favourite perfume.........

Since we have been having a lot of threads on our favourite things, I wondered who wear's perfume and who doesn't and if so what do you like to wear.?

I am a musk girl myself, love white musk oil, almost anything with the musk fragrance, Jovan is one of my favourites.

I am not into expensive perfume, but only because I cannot afford it, I like to wear a musk body spray daily and perfume for special occassions.

I also love shisheido (sp), an oldie but a goodie.

I HATE perfume, especially when someone marinates in it, and you are trapped near them in a store or a restaurant. It literally makes me feel ill.

I hate perfume too. I never wear it. That being said I do like to smell cologne on guys LOL :) As long as they haven't bathed in it that is.

I *hate* perfume. It just makes me all dizzy and feeling sick with the smell. I can't stand it. :p *Some* light perfumes smell nice, but I still never use them. Why make myself dizzy when I don't need to? :p ;)

I am just as addicted to perfumes and body sprays. I prefer the liter ones that will last b/c of where I work. Don't want anyone to go into seizures or anything b/c of my smell.
I LOVE Bath and Body Works Sheer Freesia, Coconut Lime Verbena.
I live the new Jovan Fresh White Musk also.

My favorite thing to do is to go to Sam's club and buy it in the gallon containers and take a bath in it!!! ;) ;) ;) :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: b/c while I agree that some perfumes are aggressive to the nose etc and I myself don't like to be stuck near people that wear strong scents I would rather catch a whiff of perfume than a big ol nosefull of poop/BO/or bad breath! And I smell them everyday at work. I have a mixture of both worlds the good and the bad. I sometimes have patients perfume's so strong it makes my nose water, and other times the patient's scent themselves made my eyes run!

There's one that's getting harder and harder to find, and that's "Champagne" by Yves St. Laurent - I LOVE it as an evening scent (a little too "sexy" for daytime). I like Chanel No. 19, Chanel "Allure", and one they probably don't even make any more, "Je Reviens" by Worth of Paris. I don't wear makeup or jewelry, but I am a perfume freak - my one concession to girliness! I am also an absolute sucker for cologne on men - turns me into a love slave (LOL).

I've never really thought different perfumes smelled all that different....and you'd never, ever, catch me spending $60+ on a tiny little bottle of perfume.

I do enjoy body sprays, however, though I usually forget to wear them. I have one that's "Vanilla Pear" and I love the smell of it. :)

Staci, I do hope you enjoy your "perfume baths" maybe I'll have to try that sometime just to make people "sick, dizzy, or ill." :p

I wear perfume to work.. but not on my days off. My faves are Clinique "Happy," CK "Eternity" for women, CK "Obsession" for women (but only a winter perfume), and I LOVE LOVE LOVE "Ralph" by Ralph Lauren. I also will wear "Green Tea" by Elizabeth Arden, but it's more of a casual scent for me.

BTW - Nathan's mom works in cosmetics and fragrances in a big department store, so I've never had to pay for perfume! ;) I get mine in Christmas and bday gift baskets! :D

I love perfume!!! I wear very expensive perfume at work or at home, depends on my mood. I love Allure by Chanel (I just bought an extra one at Duty Free Shop in Munich airport), Premier Jour by Nina Richi, I also have a Chanel Nr.5 body spray at home, but I wear it very rarely. When I go out with my mom I put on her Nr.5. I like to smell it on other people, it's so strong for me. I have some more at home. Sara gave me a great one from Clinique - I didn't notice the name.
I love CK1 - I know it's unisex. I also love it on men - it is so different on them.

I think men wearing perfume are VERY sexy.

Oh, and I hate Angel (sorry for those who like it). I think it doesn't suit the name.

I love perfume, but hate when people put it on too heavily. In the Autumn and Winter I only wear Chanel No 5! And in the Spring and Summer, Je Reviens!

All Creatures....I couldn't believe I actually found someone else who has even heard of it, let alone wears it!!:) It's a real classic from the 30's!! It's so clean and fresh smelliing like the air after a shower! They still do make it, but it is now made in England, not France and in the cologne, there's a slight change in the scent; and it doesn't last for more than an hour!:(

My absolute FAV perfume is called Carita. I first found it in NYC at Bloomingdales. I had gotten a sample. When I went back the next year, they told me it was now only sold in Paris!!! I was devastated.

Fortunately, 6 years ago my friend went to Paris for a weekend. She picked me up a medium sized bottle for $72. It has lasted almost 6 years! I still have a few squirts left in THAT bottle. For my 50th birthday this year, my SIL had a client of hers (my SIL owns a travel agency) scout down a HUGE bottle for me when she went to Paris. I was so surprized :eek: She told me now I don't have to just wear it on special occasions.

I also love CK1 but won't buy it cuz it's tested on animals.

I am allergic to perfume, and many "perfumed" things. It runs in the family, and at least I can use some kinds of soap without a problem. My sister (my mom was the same way) cannot use soap at all, or she gets awful excema. So perfume is verboten in our crowd! I don't mind the smell of some perfumes, but I do mind the immediate headache, watering eyes and asthma that accompanies the smell!

I can alway's remember when I was in my twenties, I worked at this big plastics moulding company, part of my job was to deliver all the mail around the factory.

One of the head guys complained about my perfume, I wore CHARLIE in those days, I expect every time I left his office, the place reeked of it, I was so embarrassed:o

So to this day I am very aware of not over-doing it, trouble is you can never smell it quite as much as other people.

I know what you mean about getting instant headaches etc, sometimes I try the perfume's on at the counter, and regret it, because I end up shopping with a rotten headache afterwards.

I don't understand how people "over do" perfume. It seems like either some people retain scents very easily or they absolutely bathe themselves in the stuff.

I put about three squirts of the stuff on in the morning and I never leave a scent trail. You can only smell it if you're in my personal space.:p

I am wearing Clinique Happy right now. My husband likes perfume so.....

I have a girlfriend who wears TOOO much. I think it is because she smokes and she is trying to mask the smell. When she gets in the car I always open the window and she makes some smart remarks about "hot flashes." Some day.......

Don't you hate it when that happens?? When I leave for work in the morning sometimes I have to hold my nose all the way down the elevator because someone has taken a bath in her perfume. And women aren't the only ones. One time a man came on and I swear his cologne was worse than my cat's farts.

As for me, I do wear a bit and my preference is Joyful by Mary Kay.

Jumping around, estatically! ME!!! My SIL is a professional smeller...really, and she always gets us scents for gifts. She gave my Hugo, telling me it had all the stuff I loved, and I love it! My gf smelled me, and went and bought it the next day.

I also love Eternity and Il Bacio. I try to stay within my scent range, and always check with my SIL when unsure. The best part is when I get FREE samples from her...

New West Skin Scent (anyone else remember it??) It was discontinued, but has now been re-released in limited qty through Nordstroms and Macys in the USA, and through "The Perfume Shop" in the UK. (but not here in Bahrain). I am waiting 'till next time I go to the UK to stock up.

Actually now that I think of it, they are all very similar scents - I really should try something different.

I HATE it when I forget to put perfume on in the morning, if I am running late- it's almost as bad as forgetting to put my watch on - I feel naked!

As for men's cologne - Farenheit by Dior - that is yummy!!
