We are almost finished. Ran out of glue so we couldn't wrap the sisal post. But, oh well. A project for the weekend. Then I'll hang all the dangly toys. The boys are having a great time.
They asked me to post these pics to show off their new toy.

That is a fantastic jungle gym! Kona is jealous. Did you build it yourself? I can tell that they love the slanted tube part.

I hate to be nosy , but could you give us a rough idea how much it was to construct. And did you build the pieces yourself , or can you buy them. I must say that the design is much better than many of the ones in the store that cost hundreds of dollars.Greatjob! For Great Cats! Mine are officially JEALOUS!!!!!!

Sure catmandu. We're actually pretty proud of how inexpensive it is to build these things yourself.
We had some scrap wood in the basement, so that was some savings. The bottom pieces is actually an old door. Then the shelves are the old shelves we took out of our closets. Then we just got some 2x4's and alot of mdf and carpets. Just cheap remnants and stuff. The tube is covered in a big area rug I found on clearance. The tube itself is a big carboard tube from HomeDepot. YOu can also use plumbing pipes and cover them.

We spent about $150 when it was all said and done. Easily you could order one for 10 times that amount.

We went online and looked at lots to see the elements we liked. Then we sort of sketched it on paper. But it was really all just "from the hip" building. Chris is very handy so that was good.

There is a ton of glue and over 5000 staples in it:) And we haven't even done the sisal rope yet!!

I went on google.com and entered cat funiture to research. There are some cool ones on www.angelicalcat.com and they are over $1000!!

I have to say I am green with envy. I don't dare show my furballs a picture of this because they will be begging me to build them one.

It is AMAZING . Great work.

That is one real cool cat gym, you could start yourself a little business there, I bet you would be overwhelmed by orders from pet-talk for a start.
Must show hubby, he has built a house, so I reckon he could build one just like it, now if only I can get him to do it!
