Well, good news. I went down and picked up Dio this morning. Tammy and I left at 6 am and made it back by a little after noon. He does show some signs of aggression that weren't there before, but, for the most part it has been rather smooth (keep your fingers crossed) We are keeping him until Wednesday when I am taking a day off of school to drive him to Gurnee, IL where a very kind and generous man Tom is going to pick him up and take him to Madison, WI, where Louanne (the angel that took Baby from us) is donning wings again and taking him all the way to Michelle (his new mom) who lives in the Twin Cities. So, our baby is safe...Thank God! I have been living on pins and needles for the past 2 weeks with this whole incident. Thanks to all for your support.

Although saying goodbye to him a second time will be hard, I'm glad Dio is safe. Good luck this week and have a safe trip Wednesday.

Oh trust me Sue, I WILL be in tears. I've been in tears most of the day today too. I felt so badly when I got there. He knew me and forgave me for dumping him there. He jumped up and gave me kisses and was SO excited to see me. I felt like such a heel. I just feel so blessed to have found someone willing to take him and love him and work with him. When we got home, he ran out in the backyard like he had never left. Then he went in the house and went from dog to dog reaquainting himself. It was almost like he had missed them.

I'm glad to hear that everything has worked out for Dio. I can't imagine how hard it's going to be giving him up again, but at least you know he's going to have a good home:)

OHHHHH, Molly, just reading your description of his return home made me burst out in tears!!!!!! You bet he remembered all his housemates! I'm so glad he has a good home to go to, but boy it would KILL me to have him back so briefly and have to let him go again. {{{hugs, hugs, hugs}}} I could just picture the happy reunion. Oh how horrible the parting will be again!!! It is a hard thing you have to do, Molly, but it is for the best now. Be strong and let us know how it goes.

Well, tomorrow is the day. I have not stopped crying for any length of time since I got home tonight. I am NOT looking forward to this at all. He has already assimliated himself again. I have yet to see the nasty side that the shelter keeps insisting was happening everyday. Michelle is so excited about getting him and Tom is so nice for helping out and is willing to see me blubber when he leaves and Louanne is so kind to take him all the way from Madison to the Cities. She keeps saying not to worry about it because we let her have Baby and she loves her to death. Michelle has promised me to send me pictures and she has webcam and will send me live updates on him. She also promised that if it doesn't work out she will send him back to us. Please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow.

I'll have to decline this time, Molly. That is about 1 1/2 hours away from me if there is no traffic and who knows how long if there is traffic. I will be with you in soul at least.
Let me know if you are ever closer to me! I hate to drive.
Hugs.

Well, after A LOT of tears, and a lot of help from my mom to get my mind off of it, Dio is on his last leg to his new home. Both Tom and Louanne love him and had nothing but great things to say about him. Tom and Dio shared french fries on the way to Madison and then he went visiting with Louanne at the conference while in Madison and I talked to Louanne a little bit ago and they were on their way to the Cities to meet Michelle his new mom. I will keep you posted on the progress. Thanks to all for your continued support through this difficult time.

She called me at 2am (just as I asked her to) and she was SO excited. She said that he got to her house and ran through the house jumped up on her boys' bed and rolled around and gave them kisses and ran into her room and jumped up on the bed to give the boyfriend kisses (who was thrilled! lol). She has taken him for 2 walks to meet neighbors and one neighbor came back over to the house to see him again because he thought he was so cool. I am now at peace with my decision. Am I happy about giving him up? No, but, at least he seems happy and she is thrilled....it must be a good match.

I'm glad Dio has made it safe and sound to his new home. It does sound like a very good match. A sad day, but with a happy ending for Dio :)

Even though I know this is hard for you, I'm glad to hear that Dio is settling into his new home so well. That in it's self must make you feel a little more at ease.
