It is now 9.30am Thurs moring & I'm exhausted already. This
morning Smokey did not want to come back into the house after
his potty duties, so I left him out & fed the kitties, cleaned the boxes, etc. I had to put antibiotic ointment in my cat Punkin's eye
(always a pleasure....NOT). Surprisingly, it went well. I stuck the
lid on the ointment tube & put it in my pocket & went back to call
Smokey in. He still would not come in & wanted me to play chase
me, chase me. I was running late for work anyway, so decided to
just leave him out in the back yard till I could come back at lunch time & bring him inside. I left the house with my purse, brief case
and a large bag of trash to throw away. By this time Smokey thinks he's won the game & gets to go with me & starts jumping
up biteing the bag, jumping around like crazy. He torn the bottom
of the bag open, but I managed to grab it with my other hand &
make it to the fence & put it over to the other side. I did not
realise what I looked like till I got to work(ten mins late for our
daily meeting). The whole right side of my slacks were caked with
mud(rained last night). When I got back to my desk I found the
top to the antibiotic ointment in my pocket, but no tube.
I hope it fell out somewhere in the house. If not, I'm sure Smokey's found it by now & eaten it. I think I'll just put my
head down on my desk & sob quietly.

Days like that are the ones that make me so glad that my office is in my house!!!!! :p It's like oversleeping, once that happens, seems like the whole day is shot!!!! :D

Hope it gets better for you.

OH, that is awful! Recoverable, but, awful all the same!

Not meant as platitudes, BUT, no one was hurt, the ointment won't kill him (maybe make his potty time interesting for a day or two), the ointment is replaceable, and your whole work knows you love animals!

Let's hope tomorrow is better..:)

Oh no!!!
I hope it gets better!!

I know the feeling--when a buch of things go wrong at home, I figure it can only get worse once I get to work--then I start bumping things, dropping things, and tripping!!!

I know exactly how you feel about being dirty when you get to work too--I can't count the number of times I have been in a hurry, and trying to herd everyone in the house, and someone (Abbey) jumps on me and I have a big pawprint on my pants!!!

   Hope your day gets better!!! I don't think it could get worse...oops, I didn't say that...(don't want to jinx ya)!

Yup, as soon as the weather gets cooler, those darn dogs just don't want to come in as easily. My Avalanche (the Great Pyr) used to do that in the snow and cold and ice. I'd have to put on my boots and coat and DRAG her in! ;) At least the weather is nice. LOL

Oh, and you do know that muddy pants with a bit of dog hair is now the new fashion craze, right? It is isn't it??? I sure do hope so!

Liz, I hope your day is improving bit-by-bit. I know it will once you get home, into some clean 'comfys' and take a look at those beautiful brown 'mokey joe eyes. (Just ignore the ointment breath..;) )

Liz it sounds to me as if you need some good quality time at Dick's Place. Meet me there and I'll buy you a drink. Hopefully the rest of your day will go smoothly.

Thanks for the cheery words guys. The day seems to have
evened out pretty well. (Knock wood). It's not over yet.:D
I didn't make it home at lunch time so Smokey has been out
in the yard all day now. He did eat breakfast before he turned
into a wild man this a.m. & the temp's been in the mid 60's, so
he should be alright. I think the thing that really ticked me off
this morning, is that I didn't notice the mud all up & down my
right side as I walked into the office from the parking garage
or in the elevator ride up to my floor. I wonder what people must
have thought that saw me. Oh well, if they were dog
lovers they would have understood.:D

p.s. I really hope that ointment was left in the house somewhere.

So, Liz, how did the day end? Smokey ok outside? Find the ointment? Get to relax? Hope today is a better day!

Hi Sue,

The day ended well. I found the ointment inside the house on
the kitchen counter.(after scouring the back yard, basement,
car & garage floor) Smokey was just fine & overjoyed to see me
drive up. He was laying down by the back gate & I spotted him
the minute I turned into the alleyway.Bless his little heart. :)
He played for about ten minutes then ate his supper & crashed
out on the bed for the evening. All that fresh air I guess.:D :D
Yes, today's morning has gone a lot smoother thanks. :) Hope
your day is a good one too. Hugs to Killian & Shiloh for me.:D

That's great, Liz! I can just imagine how thrilled Smokey was to see you!!!!! Today Killian and Shiloh are just moping and pouting because it's raining out and they can't go out or go for their walk yet. I tried to get them to help me clean, but Killian only attacks the vacuum and Shiloh runs up and hides in my bedroom! LOL
