Rescued kitty

about a month ago, my mother and cousin were driving and there was a lady stopped in the middle of the road. So they stopped and shr told them she almost hit a kitten and she was looking for it. Well my cousin almost had it but then he ran away into a swamp-quite a large swamp too. when i got home from work my cousin told me so we got boots and waders and went back hoping to find him. Well after wading in this horrible swamp for 45 min. i finally found him. he was so weak and tired- he hissed but he couldnt move. We thought there might be others we searched but no luck.I brought him back home - he was soooo skinny- could barely walk. i brought him to the vet who said he would not have lasted another night. he had so many terrible things wrong with him. his little paws were severly burned and blistered from walking on hot pavement. he had other things wrong too but i wont go into it- not too pleasant. i decided to keep him- how could i not?!?! and now hes almost fully recovered- i just dont get how people can sleep at night knowing what they have done.- heres a pic of Reef

You and your cousin are amazing for working so hard to rescue this kitty. I see that Reef is smiling, as if to say how happy he is to have a forever home with you. I am glad he is recovering well from whatever he was put through. More pictures, please.
