This email came from a co-worker....
PLEASE HELP!
I have been fostering a dog for a couple weeks that is in desperate need of a home. I have been calling him Cleatus, since the previous owner wasn't sure of his name. Cleatus came to me from my neighbor who had rescued him from an elderly lady who didn't want him and was letting him roam the streets. The lady had inherited the dog from her daughter's ex-boyfriend, and my neighbor couldn't keep him because of rental property stipulations.
Cleatus is an extremely friendly dog who was obviously well taken care of by the initial owner. I have attached a photo of Cleatus with my daughter, who has been playing with him every day. Unfortunately, my three dogs and cat are not as willing to accept him into our family.
Cleatus is a boxer and pit-bull mix ( I know half of you just stopped, but please re-consider!). He is about 3 years old, but definitely still playful as a puppy.
I have tried every dog-rescue I can find, and all of them are over-booked. The Human Society and Animal Control will not find him a home and will put him to sleep, because of his breed without considering his wonderful temperament.
If you or anyone you know can help me place Cleatus in a good home, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jason Aldrich

*EDIT*
Emailed Jason asking if Cleatus was fixed...
Unfortunately, no - I know a lot of rescue places have told me that fixing him would make him more desirable, but I don't want to have to put a couple of hundred dollars into him in the event know one takes him. I know it's sad to say - but if I can't find a place soon, I will have to turn him over to the humane society. One hopeful point is that when talking to an animal control officer, she said that if he is mixed enough (depending on who's at the desk that day) he may be held on to, and given a chance to be adopted.
I have Jason's email and phone numbers for any serious inquiries.
