Need prayers please! I got a horrible call right now!

I just got offline and my step dad called, and told me to call him back. I could tell something was wrong by his voice. When he was about to hang up on the message, he said that Blacky may need to be put to sleep. :(


I have not called back yet because I need prayers ASAP! I have not seen Blacky in so long and to think he's going to pass without me having a chance to say goodbye to him really makes me upset. I need to try to fly down there to say goodbye, I need to ask if they can send me down there. I need to be with him because he dies! I have had him forever. I rescued him as a tiny baby with the rest of his litter on Easter day when I was in the 5th grade. He was the first one I spotted and the one we ended up keeping. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! :( :( :(

He's an old guy, but I was not prepared to here this yet, not without me saying goodbye first. Please pray I can make it to California. I don't know what Baby and Ickeris are going to do. Ickeris has been with Blacky since she was a kitten. Blacky has a thyroid disorder and is on meds. I need to go call Denny. Please say prayers for my Blacky boy, it would mean so much to me. I am crying so bad right now. I am going to sound like a fool on the phone while I am trying to talk. Life isn't fair. :( :( :( :(

AWW This is indeed sad, I can understand how you must be feeling, I really hope you do get to be with Blacky, if not remember you will be there in spirit with him, take care and HUGS to you, and hopefully you can make it to california.

I just got off the phone and Denny explained what happened. I will try to explain as best as I can remember. He said last night he got off work and he couldn't find Blacky anywhere. Usually he is right there at the house. They went around the block calling for him and he didn't show up. Then this morning they found him after Denny called for him and he came out of the bushes in the front. They said he was really weak and walking very slow. They took him inside and there is diarrea sp? all over his back end like he got scared or something? My mom is wondering if he was chased by a dog.

I asked her if he had any puncture wounds on him and they said no. She says it doesn't seem like he was hit by a car or anything, but more like he was scared. What's weird is that this morning he drank a LOT of water and out of a DISH! He NEVER drinks out of a dish. He likes to drink his water out of the bathroom sink, and has done that since he was a kitten. This is not normal. He was very thirsty. They tried giving him wet cat food and he only ate a tiny bit so they were not able to give him his medicine.

I asked if maybe he had gotten into antifreeze but they seem to think there is no chance of that happening. Anyways, since he drank all the water Denny put a towel down in the bathtub and Blacky has been laying there ever since. He's just sleeping. Denny put the phone up to Blackys ear so I could say hello. :D I know it sounds weird, but I love my cat so much! He was like MY FIRST CAT EVER! The one that was mine, I saved his life. I miss him so much.

For the past few weeks I have been thinking of his so much since he is getting really old and dreading that this day would come and I would not have a chance to say goodbye. I only have one recent picture my sister sent me, but I don't have any with me in it, and I want to take a picture with him before he leaves. Denny is already asking me how much it is for euthanasia. :( I want to see him and just give him a kiss one more time. I miss all my kitties so bad. That is one of the worst things about moving here to Oregon, is being so far away from my fur and human family.

I thought at first Denny was going to say something happened to my mom or brother and sister, just the way he was talking. It was a very scary moment getting that phone call. I told Denny that is they put Blacky to sleep that I want to see him first. My mom says not to worry about pictures because she has a lot of new ones of him, but it's not the same. I want to take a picture with me holding my baby. :( I have pics of him and I when we were younger but that's it. I always see people have pics with their cats and I want one, especially of Blacky. He's just so special, you don't understand.

I especially miss Baby and Ickeris. I am not that attached to Thor because my mom has only had him for year or so, and she's always going back and forth as to whether it's her cat anyway, even though Thors supposedly real owners don't give a rats a$$ about him. :rolleyes:

Anyways, sorry to get off subject. I just miss my furkids so much! I wish there was a way to post video on here, because I have the best videos of me and Blacky from last year, when my sister was singing an NSYNC song to him and he slapped her, lol. He's feisty because he's old. :p And then there is one where I gave Thor a bath and clipped off all of his hair, and he was a naked kitty, hehe. If I ever get our video camera back I will put the video on tv and then take a picture of the tv with my digital camera, and get pics that way. That way I will have pics of him .

I hope to go there soon and that Blacky perks up. Denny is the type of person that thinks because he's old he should just be euthanized. :rolleyes: When I said I wanted to see Blacky before they put him to sleep, if they do, he said "Ya right" like I was kidding. Before I called I knew to stop crying or they would think I was crazy. He doesn't understand. I had Blacky before he even met and married my mom!

Oh, dear, it hurts me to hear you so, so sad and upset:( You love your Blacky so and I don't blame you one bit for wanting to go there to be with him, see your other furbabies and family. Blacky was such a big part of your life and I fully understand how you feel. I got my first kitty Hambone when I was 5 years old. He passed away 21 yrs. later. I was married by then:) Is there any chance your family can take him to the vet to examine him? Maybe he just had a very rough night outdoors and it took it's toll on him. I hope there will be some way for you to get there to be with him. But remember, even if you are not able to get there, Blacky knows how very much you love him. Hopefully, he will pull through this. I'm so glad he got to talk with you on the phone!:) And it sounds like Denny is trying to at least keep him comfortable and safe.:) Sending you love and support with heartfelt prayers that Blacky will rally. {{{HUGS}}} Sandra

oh no, that's terrible:(:( I feel so sorry for you.....I will definately be praying for Blacky. Has the vet examined Blacky yet? Maybe its not even that serious, I sure hope it isn't.

My heart breaks for you. I sure hope you can manage to see Blacky. I'm with TATS - are you sure he needs to make the trip to the RB?? Can't the vet look at him??

When are your family going to take Blackie to their vets ? He might not as ill as you think ? He certainly needs to be checked over asap not sleeping in a bath ?

That is exactly what I told them, however they are scared to move him, because he looks so frail. Denny is actually scared to pick him up, and well, he's not the friendliest old guy on the block anymore. ;) Whenever something happens to the cats they always call me first, which is great and all, but I would prefer them to be taken to the vets first. I am very afraid that if they take him to the vet he will be euthanized. :(

So I am trying as hard as I can to have them take him to the vet. There is always a chance of getting into some kind of poison or antifreeze when he's outdoors, and I know the neighborhood, not all the neighbors are clean. I will update you as soon as I know anything. I don't know why they keep him outdoors when he is so old.

There is a chance he could pull through, and hopefully he is just tired. It's just so scary. I have never had to say goodbye to a cat for the longest time. Too bad I am not a cat spychic and could talk to him!


Yes, I always talk to the kitties on the phone. Especially Baby!:D

Well I am PRAYING he doesn't! I am hoping he just had a tough night, and it's not something serious. I am trying to talk my family into taking him to the vet. They are stubborn sometimes!:mad:

I am sure if they thought he really need to see a vet they would take him. However they are leaning more on the side that he's getting up there in age. But he could have many more years ahead of him hopefully! I hope he just had a scare somehow and will get over it. I really need to call them back and see what's happening. If he got into poison they can save him if he gets to the vet quickly. So I am still trying to persuade him. Plus I htink he's about due for his thyroid check too.

I think they are keeping him in the bath because they want him to rest and be comfortable, plus Denny doesn't want to move him unless he has to.


Thank you everyone for the words of kindness. It's so hard not being there. If I were there he would be at the vets already! :(

I'm so sorry to hear that Blacky is sick. :( I'd also try to encourage your parents to take him to the vet. The longer they wait the sicker he may get. :( I also hope that you're able to visit him before he's put to sleep. Hopefully this won't need to happen. Prayers and positive thoughts are on the way. How awful for you! I moved away from two of my furkids when I left home and I miss them so. I think your parents should at least call a vet for advice on moving Blacky and getting him treatment ASAP. It may be treatable, or it may not, but either way they should avoid perpetuating the pain wherever possible.

Hopefully , you will be able to see Blacky! And get your folks to take him to the Vets as with the science that they have now , he could have a few more years! Prayers are coming from the Lost Cats Hotel!
