Tubby & Peanut's Mom

Tubby has to have his blood checked every 6 months to keep an eye on his kidney levels so if the kidney failure gets any worse we can catch it right away.
So, the good news is his levels are the same as they were a year ago. She said they are just "moderately elevated" which is what they were a year ago, so overall he's doing real good for a guy his age. Gotta love that kind of message on the answering machine. :D
I was worried because after his bout with the ornamental grass a few weeks ago, it seems like he's been throwing up more often than usual, so I was thinking his kidneys were getting worse and we might have to up his Pepcid dose everyday. But thankfully that's not the case - whew! Now I'm thinking maybe he just had a little bit of the grass still in his tummy that has since been either digested or thrown up because since, oohh...about last Thursday or so, he hasn't thrown up at all.
So my big boy is doing real good! :D :D
The bad news is the comprehensive blood test that they do cost $215.00!!!  But he's definitely worth it, and he's been so healthy his whole life that it's like he has built up a reserve for vet bills in his senior years. :D
