Help me!!! I cannot adopt another because of Killian's health problems, but I am soooo tempted by this guy. pssst.....and he's NOT from the rescue I work with either.
Check out Herbie (http://www.gsdrescue1.org/images/herbiefull.jpg)
One-to-two year old Herbie is one of the most loving and cuddle-able young men you'll ever meet. Besides playing outside, his favorite thing to do is lay next to (or on) a friendly human and cuddle. His photo doesn't due justice t his EXTREMELY soft and brilliant coat and hazel eyes that literally sparkle. He's had a rough start of it in life and is waiting for that forever home that will never be mean to him and always provide food and shelter and love (things he hasn't had regularly in his young life.) He's neutered, up-to-date on all shots and heartworm prevention, housebroken, friendly with other dogs, and of course flea and worm free. Can you give him the chance he deserves?
Ohhhh, he would be a perfect playmate for the rambunctious Shiloh!!!

You cannot??? Or you think you should not???? :)
Oh, Sue, I gave myself every single argument, back and forth, knowing that just "having" them costs money, let alone when they are sick, like Murphy and Killian. In the end, our hearts won out, and now we have added Zipper.
Wouldn't Shiloh be happy????? And you could spend more time concentrating on Killian because she has a friend????
Hehehe! What did you expect me to say?? I'm a sucker and I want you to be one too!!! LOL!!!! :D

I would LOVE to meet this handsome guy face to face!
Sue...just follow your heart! :D

Geeee, thanks, guys....you're supposed to be talking me out of this!!! LOL
Reasons I'm telling myself why we can't adopt Herbie:
1. Killian has autoimmune disease and stress can make it worse.
2. Shiloh is devoted to Killian.
3. Shiloh might like this guy better and no longer pay attention to Killian.

Okay, Okay those are valid concerns. I just pray this boy gets a great furrrever home! I don't doubt that he will be snatched up soon....if widely publicized enough. So handsome & sweet!!!
He reminds me of another rescued PT GSD....now I must go search around until I figure it out......
EDIT:
I figured it out...Angie/pitc9's Sierra! It's probably just the coat coloration...but they are both such awesome GSDs!!!

Just let your heart lead you:)

When the day comes for my next GSD (and I hope it is a long way down the line, if you know what I mean), it will be a bi-color GSD. I am just smitten with the unusual good looks of a bi-color. In fact, just a few short years ago, I didn't even know what a bi-color was....I thought they were a GSD mix! LOL I was so used to the black/tan saddlebacks!!
I sure do like the looks of this guy and the sound of his disposition. He will surely be snatched up!!!

You know I am just giving you a hard time! You have to do what you are most comfortable with, Sue, but I know that you do get tempted on occassion. But I love you all the more for watching out for Killian first. :)

Of course, Killian comes first. :) Especailly with his autoimmune disease, I'm sure you don't want to stress him unnecessarily. And I'm sure Shiloh will understand!!;) Still.....I can see why you are SO tempted!! Oh, isn't he the handsome boy!! As you say, one day, way far away, maybe a boy just like him! I'm sure Herbie will find a wonderful home...in a flash!
Some of the other reasons you stated are why I resist the urge to get #3...(our town's limit by the way for "companion/pet dogs" per household) Star is so devoted to Cody and Cody is so stressed by changes/strange dogs; especially adult dogs in her home. She'd just go out and slink into a corner if there were another dog in the house. She and Star already compete for my COMPLETE attention!:D She had such a horrifying early life before her resuce. She deserves to enjoy her senior years without the stress of another dog; lots of peace and quiet and one on one attention!!:)

Oh Herbie..... he's a hansome looking man!!
(Kater tipped me off to this thread)
I think everyone has my pups mixed up, Sierra is my little princess girl, she's the dark sable, (that looks like Herbie) and my Buddy Boy is the light black and tan.
(I think I need to try and fool around with my sig to make it a little clearer!!)
EDIT:
(~ I think it'a all clear now ~ )
But boy oh boy... Herbie does remind me of Sierra! Hey...they'd make a cute couple!!;)

What a cutie!!!
I will keep this sweetie in my prayers, that he will find a loving forever home soon.
I can see why you are tempted, and commend you for thinking of Killian and Shiloh first. I'm sure it is very hard. I hope it is a long way down the road for you as well before you are ready for another dog.

Sue, you know I love you whatever you do. Herbie's stunning and I can see why he'd be so hard to resist. But given the circumstances, if you don't mind my 2 cents....I'm attached to K & S too and having experienced dog illness..I can validate your reasons. There will be another time..you;ll know when...

Thank you everyone! This is a time when going with my head has to come before going with my heart, I guess. As Karen said, there will be another time. My husband said that, too. There will be other dogs that will sweep me off my feet, when the time comes.
The only sort of sad thing is that Shiloh would like someone to play with (but she is sooo picky) while she is still relatively young (5 yrs. old). Killian doesn't play very much.... :(
