5 more days....

Anyone have big plans or is it just another Sunday around the tube watching the game?

No party plans or anything. If I was really interested I'd go over to my brother's house because he has a bigger TV.;)

I will probably watch it though - if the game isn't a blowout then it's fun to watch and I do like the commercials.:)

We're going to watch from a friend's house on Sunday night. We will probably all be pulling for the Panthers, which means that the other team will probably win! LOL!!!! :)

I'm ready for the game. I don't really have a favorite here. Since the Panthers are the underdogs I will be pulling for them. I'm just hoping for a good game. I'm also looking forward to all the silly new commercials and seeing how all the musical acts do.

No Super Bowl Party here. Alden has to work and he is going to have to miss the game :( It will just be me and my son and probably his girlfriend. We are looking forward to watching it on our new tv though. It is being broadcast widescreen and hi-def and the picture is amazing! I wish you all could come and join us and we could have our own little Pet Talk Super Bowl party. I don't have much to munch on though. Just some popcorn, pepsi and bud light.

Well, lets all hope it is a good game and everyone enjoy!

Thanks for the invite!!! :D Wish I could just hop up to join you in watching the game on your new TV. Sounds like FUN! I totally identify with a commercial I've seen for the new sets where a guy in the appliance store faints when he sees the game on hi-def TV. That definitely would be me. :)

No party here but we are indulging in burgers and fries at kick-off. My stomach's ready - come on, clock!!!!

Miss Meow

Ok, I'm getting bored. The game is already dragging on and on to me....lol.

I thought Beyonce did a pretty good job. Aerosmith was awesome. Of course I'm a huge Aerosmith fan. I've gotten a few giggles out of the commercials, mostly the budweiser ones.

Well, Miss Meow, the 2nd quarter is just beginning. So far, this is very much a defensive game. Score is 0-0. Since neither of the offenses seems to be going anywhere, we can hope that one of the defenses will score soon!!!

boring.......................

lolol, Vinateri just missed Field Goal #2......

the Mule/budweiser commercial is the best so far.....

the movie commercials .....Troy, Alamo and Van Helsing look promising.......

One thing that kinda bothered me was the announcement that CBS would not take money from PETA and someone else to run commercials.......But they did take money to run some AIDS spots....

I was just going to post that this game would be decided by a bobo play......

Delhomme just fumbled....my prediction?? 10-3 final score.....

not only that, I am not drinking for this superbowl......So that is going to make it more exciting for me.......*yawn*...........

This is possibly one of the most BORING Super Bowls in history!

I enjoyed Aerosmith as well as Toby and Willie. The National Anthem was good, but, I still don't like it when they change or "enhance" it....I'm old fashioned I guess.

OMG....New England FINALLY scored!

That Bud light commercial had me near tears from laughing.

CAR - 22
NE - 21

Thats probably true.

When I first saw it I really did LOL and was saying Here we go again, another publicity stunt. So stupid! The more I think about it today the more I think it is so wrong that they did this and got away with it. Why are they allowed to do all that stuff. Why aren't they being charged with something like indecent exposure or being fined or something. I would never be able to do that. They would haul me off to jail in a heartbeat. All those people that went and watched it on tv. All the families with childern. Its so wrong! What really makes me mad is that they lie about it and say that it wasn't intentional. Oh, Please!!!!

Sounds like the backlash is beginning. Apparently MTV and CBS are both owned by Viacom - hence the connection. I don't think we'll be seeing another MTV half time show any time in the near future. Sounds like CBS and the NFL are very unhappy with the whole thing. (although they got what they deserve - one night while surfing through channels I stumbled across miss Jackson's special on HBO and was sadly mortified at the sleaze factor)

I was also unhappy with the apparent demise of anything resembling good taste with the commercials. After the third commercial having to do with the male groin area I decided to go grocery shopping instead.

and such a shame - considering that it was a very fun game - right down to the wire.

dukedogsmom
02-02-2004, 03:12 PM
I just read that the FCC is going to be investigating this, also. They are talking about starting to fine for specific incidents, instead of just the whole show. So, if more than one bad thing happened, they would be fined for each. But, whatever the money amount is, I'm sure it's chump change for the stars.

02-02-2004, 05:41 PM
Wasn't Janet Jackson wearing a pasty under that bustier? That tells me that this debacle was not a mistake, but was definitely planned. Good grief - Do they realy expect people to buy that this was all unintentional? Their "dancing" was offensive to me, too, and shouldn't have been part of a football game. That's my opinion, anyway.

clara4457
02-02-2004, 05:49 PM
The S&M costumes were pretty much a dead giveaway on how the entire show was going. I personally don't have a problem with it, but then again I don't have any young kids watching it either. I generally don't watch the half time show anyway - it is usually the time I get up and clean the kitchen. :)

02-02-2004, 06:06 PM
I don't have any problem with Janet showing herself. I see the singers naked on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine often. Thats what a lot of singers do. I guess it was bad for national TV to air. I hope they do something different next Super Bowl! The half-time show got more attention than the game! Here I am doing the same thing! They got my attention. That is why they pull stunts like that. To get attention.

They let some of those people at the half-time show act ugly in front of kids that were watching. National TV, where a football game will be watched by children, is no place for it. They could have just done their music.

I liked the music. Not the ugly displays. .:(

I think the players all win, they get the free trip to Hawaii, hah!

Typically, a real lame game...but at least it's football. Kind of. So who do you want to see one more time before pre-season 2004? Will anybody break a sweat?

I predict- no injuries, high scoring, AFC wins.
