When Elizabeth and I were driving home from dropping off Sweetie Pie and Cola Bear on Saturday, we had just left the parking lot at the Radisson Hotel, where we met the next leg, and were prepared to get back on the interstate, and I noticed that the traffic in the opposite lane was at a standstill. We were not yet on the interstate, but close. Guess what was slowing them up........a GOAT!!!! There was a white goat walking down the road with 7-8 cars behind him! I was on the phone with the transport coordinator and could only imagine what she was thinking about this SC hick telling her there was a goat on the road!!! :o I guess it can only happen in SC!!

I slowed down and watched in my rear view mirror. Someone in the other lane followed it and shooed it off the main road. I saw them pulled over, cell phone in hand (who the heck do you call when something like this happens???), so I had to assume that everything would be ok. Oh God, I hope it was! You know my first reaction was that I needed to get that goat into my car!!! Scott told me later that he could just see my leather seats chewed up by a goat!!!

I hope and pray that the goat is ok now.

I still think Elizabeth should have gone running into the house yelling "Daddy! Daddy! Guess what Logan and I saved on the thruway!! A goat!" Oops, never mind.. I'm sure you want to see your Golden Wedding Anniversary, huh???

LOL!!! She called him on the phone and told him that he need not worry because we had the goat in the back of the car! Of course, he was cutting the grass at the time and said "good, bring him on, so I won't have to cut this grass"!!! Hehehe!!! :)

The Police Station *usually* has a listing of livestock owners within the area. Sometimes, the contact number(s) know exactly who it belongs to, and if not, can identify it by it's tags/brands/etc.

We once saw 5 goats following the railroad tracks out of town...escapees from the fair!

Then there was the cow I found last summer.... (think the post is in "general" somewhere).

Gotta love the agriculture towns!
