One of the rescue groups president's e-mailed me this. It is a horror story about a disgusting animal hoarder.
Subject: [S_T_O_P] ALERT - Animal Abuser/Hoarder on the move, please send to every shelter and rescue
Attached are photos of Jill E. Rix, a/k/a Jill Fsadni of Hillsdale Michigan. Her drivers license address is believed to list Berkley Michigan as her residence. Whereabouts currently unknown.
What is known is that Rix/Fsadni and her husband Michael Fsadni killed at least 30 cats, possibly as many as 65 cats, intentionally. Jill Rix ran a rescue named Saving Animals in Need. Many shelters, rescues and owners trusted that Rix was a kind and reputable person. What they didn't know was that Rix is a monster.
In May of 2001, the Board of Directors of Saving Animals in Need rescued many dogs and cats from the Rix Hillsdale residence. All of the animals were very ill, most severely malnourished. All of the dogs had heartworm. Her house was filled with urine, feces and garbage. Unfortunately, Jill Rix is very smart. She moved to Hillsdale County knowing they have never pursued an animal abuse case. Although her Board of Directors fought hard, the wimpy prosecutor let Rix off with a $25 fine. His failure to take hoarding seriously and to treat it as a crime directly led to the deaths of many animals.
Just 2 weeks ago, Jill Rix sent an email to a rescue person. The email indicated that Rix was out of the state, that the neighbors had called the sheriff, that her husband was going to board the dogs and the cats would probably end up in the shelter. Knowing that something was dreadfully wrong, the rescuer and a friend immediately left for Rix's Hillsdale residence. When they arrived, the stepped into hell.
They could hear barking dogs in the house. They could see feces and urine covering most of the house, floors, counters, appliances. They could see cats crying. They saw no food, no water. Just many starving feces and urine covered animals who needed help.
The worst was yet to come. They knew that Rix kept rescue cats in a separate building. Not long ago, she claimed she had 60 cats in the building. Frightened, the rescue people ran to the building, saw the windows covered with newspapers and smelled a horrid stench. The door was padlocked. They got bolt cutters from the neighbors and broke off the lock. They stepped into a feces and urine filled hell. Dead cats, in various stages of decay were everywhere. There was no food, no water. They saw a few living cats, actually walking skeletons. They managed to catch them, only 5 survivors of the Rix/Fsadni death camp.
All living animals have been removed from the Rix/Fsadni house of horrors. 35 cats and 3 dogs made it out alive. Some of the cats are still in very very rough shape, especially the cats who survived the death camp. With a lot of good food, love and luck, hopefully they will make it. At the very least, they will know love and good conditions. Approximately 18 cats and all of the dogs have been moved to rescues. 17 cats still need foster homes, if you can offer a foster home where the kitty will be isolated from other cats, please contact me.
Jill Rix/Fsadni is a very dangerous person who should not be allowed near animals. She will do this again and probably has already started accumulating her next victims. Please send her picture and this warning to every shelter that you work with so they do not allow Rix to take animals from their facilities.
Also, please take the time to contact the
Hillsdale County Prosecutor, Neal Brady, 61 McCollum Street
Hillsdale, MI 49242 Tel 517-439--1419, fax 517-439-5141
Let him know that this time, we will not accept complacency. We will be watching, we will attend hearings, we will protest, we will do whatever we have to do to make him understand that this is a felony and must be treated as such.
Finally, please light a candle for the gentle souls who suffered such a horrendous fate, and think positive thoughts for the survivors who must still recover.
If you guys have the time, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! call or fax a letter to the prosecutor telling him this kind of crap has to stop AND STOP NOW!!!!!
We are the voices of these poor creatures. They can't speak for themselves. Someone has to speak for them!
And when you go home tonight, give your furbabies hugs and tell them how much you love them!
Thanks.
Donna
