Dear Veegan and Jiminy's people,

I'm truly sorry that someone would do something like this. It makes me sick that there are people out there who get there kicks by seeking sympathy from others by playing on our love for animals. When I saw the pictures of "Jazz" I immediately recognised them but coudln't remember Jiminy's name.. thank goodness KayAnn brought it up right away.

I hope you don't take this to heart and see PT as a bad place. I hope that the replies that show support for you helps some.

That is my dog what are you thinking. Take the pictures off the internet right now. I got him from a breeder when he was 6 weeks old and I have had him since then. It's sad that two things like this happened so close together, but this place has been so wonderful for so long that I don't think any permanent harm was done. A couple of people need to be banned or shunned, and hopefully anyone else who might try such a stupid stunt will be scared off.

I've always loved PT and such to get away from the lies of everyday life I put up with. My bests friends for example feel the need to make up things about their lifes to make themselves sound so great when its clearly a lie. This reminds me of that. The best way is to prove you are trustworthy here is to never lie to folks here just to get attention - or for any other reason - and to think before you post. Spell things out, like "see you later" instead of "c u l8r" - it's that simple.

Another good pointer is never to post when you are angry. If a post makes you very mad, step away from the computer, go give somebody belly-rubs or nose-rubs/bumpies (depending on preference of the creature in question - NO ONE is allowed to touch Miss Hoppy's tummy!) or talk a critter for a walk, then come back and post when you are calm again.

This goes for anyone, regardless of age.

I am so dissapointed by all the nonsense going on here! I haven't been here for very long either, but I really felt like I had an extended family here, and I also found a bunch of people who are as totally BESOTTED with their pets as I am (and that's a tall order).

The maturity of some of our members has surprised me - I had NO idea that some of the people I was communicating with were "only" teenagers!

Most members (regardless of age) have loads of value to add to the site, and I will continue to read and enjoy their posts, but for the rest....................

Here is what I am going to do:

- If someone irritates me, I will add them to my "ignore" list

- I will NOT be leaving - I feel that what we need is for those of us who are likeminded to REMAIN on the site, continue posting, and turn things around.

- If I have something to say which is only of interest to ONE member, I'll send a PM (as Karen suggested)

- And finally - if I can't find something agreeable / nice / constructive to say, then I won't say anything at all.

Lastly - to JiminyDobe...............

Your woofie is absolutely adorable! You have every right to be proud of him, and to be able to share his beauty with others without the risk of his images getting stolen! I am sorry you have had such a negative introduction to Pet Talk, but I assure you that we are NOT all a bunch of nutters! hmm...Don't mean to change the subject but yesterday at the dog show there was a two beautiful Dobies, a black and tan, his name is Vince :D (Thats Annie's Boyfriend) and a Red Dobie named Copper. I have a really small pic of copper. But I'm planing on getting more of both of them! They are beauts!

:( I think that because there has been no response from "Chinook" and that the real owner of the beautiful dog in the picture stepped forward... THANK GOODNESS. We must put this to sleep. I have come to beleive that the Tucker "owner" is very young. It is sad. The internet can be a very friendly place or just the opposit. and about the chinook chick, well I dunno, basically she stole photographs I took of my friends Dobe, Jiminy, that I had posted a few months ago, and like, flipped them and cropped them, and then made up this whole elaborate story about how she resuced this Dobe named "Jazz" and all this crap, and then posts the pics she stole and edited, claiming they were pix of this dog she "adopted". And then Kfmar and Im sure some other PTers recognized the photos because HELLO, Id posted them before! and she alerted me and.. yeah. So I and my friend Kirsten (Jim's mom) were quite peeved. It was just a dumb thing for someone to do, it just doesnt make sense. I mean if youre gonna lie about something like that, you could at least be smarter about it and steal pix from somewhere else! :rolleyes: So anyway.. thats about it really. Ive posted some more pix Id taken of Jimbo in a new thread. We're all basically trying to move on. hahaha I guess the good thing that came out of it is Kirsten (JiminyDobe) has now joined PT. :)
