I got this email today....anyone help??

Some of you may know the story of Lily, the red doberman pinscher
that was abandoned in the backyard by her owners when they moved in
Feb 2003. A neighbor contacted animal control who picked her
up....she was a mere 40# and a week later delivered a dozen pups.
One one survived and Lily and Gordo are now living the good life in
homes with their new families.

Yesterday, July 17th, I went to the Albuquerque westside shelter
after receiving an email from a supervisor about a 7 yr old female
doberman who was emaciated and needed rescuing. When I arrived, I
was totally unprepared for what greeted me. There lay a sad looking,
emaciated, tick covered red doberman.....with five puppies on a towel
that she delivered the night before. No one at the shelter even knew
she was pregnant!! I seriously doubt she is 7 yrs old -- but the vet
will be able to tell this afternoon.

I will be picking up "Rosie" and her pups this afternoon, heading to
the vet for a checkup and then she will be staying in my guest
bedroom, which has been converted into a puppy nursery. I'll be
surprised if Rosie is even 40 pounds. The pups are larger than
Lily's pups, which gives them a better chance of survival.

If you would like to receive photos, and regular updates on Rosie's
progress and those of her pups, please email me at billyboni @
hotmail . com (no spaces). I already have pictures available.

I will be providing her with high quality puppy chow, Ebsilac
supplement, cottage cheese, yogurt, fish and anything else that will
help her regain her strength so she can nurse her pups.

Rosie and her pups will be monitored and treated by Dr. Breden at
High Desert Animal Hospital, 4035 Peggy Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM
87124. As our treasury balance at Doberman Rescue of New Mexico is
practically down to zero, I welcome any contributions for the costs
of care for Rosie and her babies. Contributions may be sent directly
to High Desert marked for Rosie, or you may contact me for my mailing
address if you'd like to assist with costs of food, supplements, etc.
DOberman Rescue of NM is a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group. I also
have a Paypal account.

What a new adventure we are on! I am confident that we will be able
to restore Rosie to good health and that we will have 5 wonderful
little doberman puppies needing homes in 6-8 weeks. Anyone
interested in adopting Rosie or one of the pups should contact me for
an application.

I'm so glad Rosie was saved, and is being taken care of by such a wonderful person!!

Molly--I think you should send this directly to Brad (bnormal)--maybe his wife won't be able to resist one of these pups, or Rosie herself!!!!

I tried, but, for right now, it's a no go. I will continue to try and help these guys. I wish we had room at our shelter, but we are filled to the brim.

lovemyshiba, forgive my tardiness...I just saw this post.

Mugsy and I have already talked about this situation. I explained that as much as I want another Dobe I cannot afford another one at the moment. I'm unemployed and we are just unable at this point to take on any more expense (mortgage in jeopardy).

I wish that wasn't the case but unfortunately it is.

I would love to rescue another Dobe puppy and someday I will!

I appreciate your thinking of me as soon as you saw it was Dobe puppies...I would love to have 2 more!

:D :D :D
