Yesterday I was taking Max out and I didn't have his Gentle Leader on. He saw a cat and took off after it and broke my finger quite badly. I have to have surgery tomorrow, and he's causing me to miss two days' work! I'm an independent contractor so I don't get payed sick time.

Bad dog, Max.

Surgery went well. Typing one-handed! Time for obedience school.

Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear that! Dusty has caught me by surprise a few times. Luckily he hasn't broken anything yet.

Max, you silly boy--let's not hurt humans from now on:)

I can relate to the tugging and pulling and Bella wears a Halti (similar to a Gentle Leader) for this reason too. One time (before the Halti) as we were getting out of the car she somehow got behind me and I did a pirouette (sp?) like a ballerina and I almost wound up on the ground! Of course one always looks around at a time like that (when they feel like a fool) to see who might have been watching! :o LOL!

I have decided, though, that I will be taking her through obedience school in September, as I have done with my other dogs in the past. This is one area I would really like to work on. I have practiced with her with a choker collar and the gagging sounds are too horrible to continue for very long. The little "choker corrections" don't work at all with her when I am anywhere other than the back yard which is not where I need her to be good. Hopefully they will be able to help me.

I am so sorry about your finger. I have said this before but I do believe dogs should come with warning labels "play with me at your own risk!" LOL! Hope your finger heals quickly. What a shame! (Glad you can still type - we look forward to updates! :) )

Sorry to hear about your finger. I know how inconvenient even having a cut on your finger can be, so I really feel sorry for you having to endure bandages, splint or whatever you are now dealing with. May your heal quickly.

We have had lots of close calls here. Sometimes Tucker pops up in my lap unexpectedly and bangs me in the mouth, but so far no broken teeth.

Poor Max, I hope you've been forgiven!
