Pepper got a boo boo

First Sheba, now poor Pepper.
Last night while Pepper was outside she must have poked
her eye with a branch or something?
Mike rushed her to the emergency vet and
they checked her eye and gave her eye medicine.
So here is Miss cone head, and Rocky checking her cone out.

First Sheba and now you, little Pepper!:( And poor Mom, too! What a week for her and your Daddy! I must say, Pepper, you look adorable as Miss Cone Head, even though I'm sure don't like it! Sandra,
You are not going to believe this, but
all day Saturday Rocky had the runs.
It looks like he might have caught the
same bug Sheba has?
He starved himself since Saturday, accept for his biscuits,
and ate his first meal tonight.
Sunday he did not poop at all.
I am waiting to see if his stool is diarrhea before I take him to the vet. He is younger and stronger than
Sheba, so I am hoping it has passed through his system.
Sheba is acting normal, but even with her medication
her stool is still on the soft side.
Pepper is fine, but she does not like her eye medication and
runs away when she sees Mike holding the bottle
in his hand. lol
I am having the carpets cleaned on Saturday,
I am hoping by than both dogs stools are normal.

Oh geeez, Karen!:( There must be a bug that Sheba passed to Rocky! Sometimes those tummy bugs can be pretty tenacious, hanging on for a while. I hope Sheba continues to improve. And poor Rocky. I hope his tummy ache clears up in the next day or so and no vet visit is needed. Pepper, please let your Daddy give your meds. You need them, sweetie. Karen, I've always found that with my kids at least, these things come in waves with all of them getting hit by something at the same time. Hopefully you're over the hump. As for the carpets...:( We all send you, Sheba, Rocky and Pepper our love and wishes for a speedy recovery. All paws crossed for the entire family. Love, Sandra, Cody and Star

I only just now saw this thread and I am only seeing little red x's - no pictures! :( Hopefully later on they'll show up. My oh my! You have had your hands full with sick pupsters! The only silver lining is that you didn't get the carpet cleaned right away after Sheba's bout with the "bug." That would have been how it happened if it had been me! I would pay for the cleaning and then have dog #2 get sick re-soil the clean carpets! LOL! At least this way one cleaning should do it! Hope they will both pull out of this quickly!

My cat, Andy, got a scratched eye once and the vet put him on some drops that absolutely drove him up the wall. He HATED them and the vet said there would be some residual medication that would make its way into his throat from his eye and it would taste nasty. He wasn't kidding! When he saw that bottle he was out of here!!! I hope all of your furry ones soon start feeling better. Poor pupsters and poor you!

I must have deleted the pics, that is why they are
probably not showing up anymore.
I was lucky with Rocky.
In the wee hours of Saturday morning he woke me
up 3 times to let him outside. By Saturday I new
better than to leave him in the house.
So the mess is still ALL Sheba's so far. lol
But lets see what happens once the
carpets are cleaned.

LOL! I would rather put drops into Pepper's eyes
than to chase around Andy your kitty. :)

Just a quick update on Rocky.

Rocky had full blown diarrhea at least 4 times this morning.
(It's a good thing I was home today)
It took me forever to take his temp.
He kept trying to hide from me :(

I called the vet and left a message to see if they
wanted Rocky to come in, or if I could pick up meds.
I just had to pick up the same meds for Rocky
that I am using for Sheba.
I am hoping that the anti-biotics are working,
or both dogs have to go back for further testing.
I just wish I new what they had, and how they picked it
up. So that is my latest update. :(

Oh Karen, that's not a happy update:( Thank goodness you were home. Poor pups:( I can't imagine what kind of bug they caught:confused: How's Sheba? Is she any better? Rocky wasn't on any meds before this, was he? I was just wondering if they could have caught something when you were away? Did you board them? Gosh, I feel so badly for them and for you. You must feel at your wit's end; so helpless. We'll be hoping and praying that the meds do the trick. The vet hasn't done any testing on either of them yet, has she/he?? Any fever?? Your confused, I'm confused. lol
Rocky was not on any meds.
(accept for their Frontline and their last treatment
of Heartguard plus both used a month ago)
Neither dog was boarded, they were in their
own back yards while we were gone.
But that was 5 weeks ago, and sheba did not
get sick till a week ago.
(now I had a very upset digestive system when
I was on vacation 5 weeks ago.) lol
The vet has not tested Sheba. He wants to see
if the antibiotics work first.
Both Sheba and ROcky at unset of illness had a temp. of just under 102 which is slightly elevated for them.
Once Sheba started her medication her temp went down
to 101.
I am still wondering if Sheba caught something at the
local park and passed it on to Rocky?

I gave them all hugs from you. : )

Oh Karen--what an awful time for you, Rocky and Sheba--and little Pepper with her boo boo.
I'm praying that everyone feels better soon, and that it never happens again.
I had 2 sick pups last week, but both only had it for one day--I cannot even imagine what you are going through.

No new news yet, but the dogs don't act sick.
Sheba stool is a bit harder today, so
I hope by the time the meds run out it will
stay hard on it's own. Rocky, no news.

Just had a bit of a scare with Sheba.
I was on the PC and I heard, light off and on wimpering.
I went into the family room but Sheba wasn't their.
I heard the wimper again, and she was leaning against
the wall inside the bathroom. She looked dazed/confused.
She is getting old, so my Aunt thinks she had
a senior moment. She ate her dinner and
is acting normal. I want her to be young still. :(

Hoping that all poopies are firming up and all tummies are quieting down. I was sad to read about Sheba's little senior moment:( Don't we all wish they would be forever young. But happily she seemed to get over it quickly and is back to feeling herself. I'll bet her recent bout with the tummy flu has taken it's toll on her. Please give them all hugs and kisses from us. Good news!!!
Sheba has been off her meds for approx 5 days and Rocky
for 2 days. Rocky's poop is almost normal, and Sheba
is still on the soft side, but not bad.
I have not noticed Sheba having another fit either. :)
Pepper's eye is healing nicely.
And I got the carpets cleaned!!!

One little draw back, Rocky caught a possum 2 days ago
and somehow tore/cut the web part inbetween the toes.
Good news, I was able to get Rocky in the house and
the possom who was playing dead walked away
several minutes later. :)

All three are doing fine.

Rocky is stuck at home till his paw heals a bit more.
(He got a new collar today.)

I am not going to take Sheba to the Park anymore.
Her resistance to fight stuff off, is just not what it
use to be.
So she is stuck walking around the neighborhood now.
