My Sammy has been acting rather strange latley. He has been laying down to eat, with his paws tucked underneath him. Usually, he would sit on his backside, and lean over to the bowl, now he's laying down!
And he has always had a "thing" for boxes, no matter size, shape,
even the small shoe boxes from my kids shoes, he will immediatley run over to the box, scratch the whole bottom throughly, then squeeze his body into it, and lay in for a nap.
Since he loves them so much, I currently have a variety of about
10 boxes scattered around the living room and bedroom for him.
The problem is, he has now taken to napping INSIDE his litter box! I have even seen him peeing in it laying down, I never thought that was possible, but I seen him do it, since the litter boxes are in my bathroom! He will do his business, then take a nap in the litter box!
He is acting perfectly fine otherwise! He's eating, playing, acting silly, etc. Has anyone had their cats do this before? Do you suppose Sammy is just being a lazy kitty?

Lorraine, this is a new one on me! Perhaps it is the heat and humidity of the season. How old is Sammy? From the picture of him, he appears to be fairly young.

Hi Wayne! Sammy Just turned 1 on July 4th!
It is very strange! He doesn't sleep in the litter box all the time, but he does it often enough! And always lays down to eat! He'll stand to drink from his water bowl, but his food bowl, he'll just lie their like the laziest kitty you have ever seen!
Sammy has always been a rather "sanitary" kitty, he is the one who leaves little tiny sand piles around the litter box, because if the litter gets outside the box,he will "sweep" the litter into little piles with his paw! He wants to keep it neat!
Even when he wrestles with his baby brother, Sammy will take breaks, and clean and groom Romeo while they wrestle!
Little does Sammy know, that he is turning into a stinky kitty by napping in his litterbox!
I keep the temp, fairly cool, because it is very hot here right now.
