Oh, thanks guys!!! I hated to take him this am, though I know it is for the best. He wagged, wagged, wagged all the way to the car, and into the office. His tail got going even more when he saw Dr. Auvil, who seems to have a special place in his heart for Binx. I am always amazed at Binx...so calm, happy, etc. I cannot believe how strong he is, when he wants to be. I nearly cannot contain him when he starts pulling!!! He weighed in at 81 pounds, which is an 8 pound gain from the last visit on June 4, I think.

I am going to stay close to home tonight, and recover with Binx. He will be on pain meds, and maybe a stitch or two on his arms and hips, depending on how much sample they take, and if it bleeds....boo hoo hoo.

Thanks for the prayers.

What a day! We finally made it home at 745 pm...it was a long day for both of us.

I talked to the doctor at 4ish, and Binx was still out. The doctor warned me that Binx had some owies, stitches, and would be a little tender because of the biopsy work, but, in a week, wouldn't know a thing! The vet took one of the teeth all the way down to the peridontal (sic) ligament, to get a sample of the ligament, incase it was indicative of something. So, Binx has one exposed tooth...tho I imagine the gum will grow back around it shortly :(

He has two shaved forearms...one with several stitches in it, and one from the IV, I guess. He is kinda bloody right now, ugh. I don't want to clean him up at all incase he is tender, so, it will sit for several days. According to the vet that did the nueter, Binx should be up and about tomorrow...though, no marathons, of course! Good thing since I am not in training, either. I had to drain his baby pool, as no water is the order of the day...ten days, I think!! We will go back in ten days for stitch removal, and maybe an update on the samples. I sure hope someone can know something from the samples!!!!!

Binx was eager to leave the white coats. He stood with his nose to the door, while I received instructions. Outside he went for a five minute pee break:D Then, he slept in the car once he finally got comfortable...I think his rear end is tender. Then, he wanted to stay sleeping in the car, once I was in the driveway. So, I unpacked my work stuff, and just left the car door open. Finally, I put his lead on, and coaxed him out. He slowly (imagine a turtle) walked with me to the door, course, he was going to the back yard, not the house. I redirected him, and into the house we went. He went directly to the back door, he did not stop once. So, I let him out in the back yard, where he IMMEDIATELY made presents in the grass!!! He is such a smartie pants. He tried to tell me he had to go...I didn't listen.

He is now sleeping on the bathroom floor. I have made him a cup of food, and I guess he will eat it tonight when he wakes up. I think I will set my alarm for 2am, to help him outside, just in case. I am hoping tomorrow he feels a little better. I can tell he just wants to sleep it off right now.

So, keep the prayers coming, and direct them towards the hoomans interpreting the test, may they be guided in their study, and may the results be whatever can be helped. Thanks!!!

Glad to hear Binx is home and sleeping it off;)

I do hope the drs will be able to figure out something from the samples they took. Hopefully one of these days (soon!) Mr. Binx will have a mouthfull of big pearly whites!

Hope he's up to making the trip to the bark park on the 13th...just wouldn't be right without him there!

Give that big boy a kiss and a gentle hug from me:)

Oh, Johanna, even in his "daze"', that boy knows what he needs to do!!! Smart fellow, he is!!! I am thinking about him tonight, and praying for some informative results from all the biopsies. Main thing, though, is that he is home, with you!!!! Hope you both have a restful night!!!

Binx had a pretty fitful night sleeping last night, didn't touch his food AT ALL, and wouldn't get up this am. Now, the not getting up isn't a huge huge difference, as Mr. B likes to sleep in, but, I really had to encourage him. We went on our usual walk, albeit at a snail like pace. He whined a couple of times, and tried to get to his rear end, and he has, eh, a loose stool. Boo hoo hoo.

We went to the park, but, I hadn't brought any ball, cause I didn't intend to let him play. He really didn't even want to walk down the hill- which is odd, cause, he normally cuts up the whole time, once I take him off lead. So, we returned home, sadly.

Now, I put 1.5 cups down, and he tasted a morsel or two, but, is back sleeping. He hasn't eaten since Monday evening at 8 pm. My 81 pounder is going to waste away.

I will come home at lunch, and if he hasn't eaten, I might give him half a frosty paws.

I don't really like the whining- cause I don't know what he is trying to tell me. Is he in that much pain? Discomfort?

One of the things the vet suggested was that I purchase a Water Pik (for him, not me). That way, I can work on keeping the recesses of his mouthie-mouth clean. The vet suggested just letting him chew on it...then, hook it up to water. Did the vet even consider the logistics of this? Water all over the house? It should be pretty dern funny. I do have electric outside...so, maybe I will open up a dental office? Wonder if I can get one of those cool chairs? Course, Binx might need a couch, not a chair. I will get some of those postcards to mail out to Binx, reminding him of his next appointment? I don't want to be a lawyer anymore...I am going to become a DENTIST! Open wide...

Johanna your sense of humor is going to get you through this! As I was reading about precious little (OK maybe not little) Binx and starting to worry about him not perking right back up to his normal healthy self, your post immediately made me feel better as I neared the end.

Your vet sounds like he is really trying to get a "handle" on all of this and so we will wait and trust that there will soon be a diagnosis and Binx's 'big snip' ouchie will heal quickly.

I think Binx might make an excellent dental patient and you are not too old to change careers and begin your new life as doggie hygienist. One question - how do you make them spit into the little bowl? :)

Pam, I rather think Binx could spit any where he wants at this point;) rest & relaxation and lots and lots of comfort for the dear boy. Do know how many true prayers and hugs are with you both Johanna? He's a trooper and will amaze and astonish us all with his come-back, I'm just sure of it.

:D Too funny Laurie!

Johanna, it's so wonderful that you have a great sense of humor, it makes the stress a little easier to handle.
A water pic hu? What a wonderful idea, but I agree with you after seeing all his slobber.....I'd set it up outside too!

We'll still be keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.

Spitting! That was my first thought too. I can just see Binx in his dental chair with that water thingy running at his side and you asking him to spit!!

We sure seem to have a lot of babies on this board that are in varying stages of treatment and recovery.

Binx - hope you are feeling better soon.

Johanna, you might look into yellow slickers and boots for your new found career!;) ;)

Cataholic,

Hope Binx is feeling a little better this evening, poor baby.
He kind of "got it" at both ends.LOL. His mouth must be pretty
tender still. Hope the healing goes quickly & he's back to normal
soon. I love the fact that Binx likes to sleep in.:D How'd you get
so lucky? LOL. Hugs to Binxy & the Kitties.:)

I agree, you have a wonderful sence of humor, and
I had a big smile on my face as I was reading your post.
(even though poor Binx doesn't have a sence
of humor right now) :(

Forget about being a dentist, how would you like
to smell the bad breath and look at rotten teeth and
gums all day.
Hope Binx is feeling better.
