I feel so guilty, being a male in all. I just dropped Maximus off at the vet to get snipped tomorrow. Am I doing the right thing?? :(

Of course it's the right thing! :) You probably just saved him from testicular cancer, and a hundred other things! Good job!

Good luck Max, boy, hope all goes well with your big snip!

Why feel guilty! You probably added time to your dogs life and now his harmons will be in check.
Believe me your dog will not even care. :)

Get well wishes being sent for your boy.

Yes!!! You definitely did the right thing!!! He will be healthier into his senior years, most likely!! Plus, you don't want a bunch of little Max juniors running around do you??;)
I'll be thinking of Max--let us know how he's doing!!

You are definately doing the right thing! You are preventing any possible future litters which would mean more dogs in the shelters. Be brave max!

Hey Guys, thanks for all the well wishes. Max is doing wonderful, except he has to wear that stupid cone around his head. And of course he is always running into me and my granmom, so both of our legs are bruised. I'm taking him away this weekend to our Mountain Cabin for a Camping trip over the 4th weekend. We have a pond, I can't wait to see how he responds. I would like to see if he can swim?? Thanks again.

lol, the cone!!!!
Kito had to wear one too, and boy were my legs bruised!!

I'm so glad to hear that Max did so well--I'm sure he has figured out how to manuever the cone by now too, right??

About the swimming, check with your vet. Kito wasn't allowed to get wet for 2 weeks until the stitches were removed. I'm sure it all depends on what type of stitches Max has though!!!

Get some pictures of the cone if you can--they are too funny!!!
Have a great weekend!!!

Yep..check with your vet before you bring him camping with you. Sometimes, they shouldn't have too much physical activity after the big snip. He could accidentally tear the stiches and that would be a bit ouchie lol

Good goin' Max!! You'll be coneless and back to your old self before you know it! You've got a very responsible and loving person there, Max! Enjoy your July 4th weekend, have fun, be safe, take it slow and enjoy your first swim!:) (Just make sure your family checks with the vet first to make sure it's safe!!)

You are doing the right thing! Both of my boys are without "bounce" and they are fine!

Good thing women don't get an idea about the health and well being of their husbands!

:D :D :D

Binx would love to trade places with Max right now!! Binx JUST got home from his big day.

As to swimming/activity, my vet definetely told me Binx can't get wet for ten days!!! Now, he did have some other things done, and has stitches on his leg...but, the stitches in the private parts are also not to get wet. Please check with your vet!!!

Good luck Max.

Glad to hear that Max is fine after the sir jury. It is healthier for them in the long run and keeps them at home, not wanting to wander as much.

WOo WOo WOo!

Glad Max is doing well.
Poor boy probably hates that cone though.
I agree with binka_nugget and Cataholic,
You might want to check with the vet
about swimming etc. 1 week might be a bit
to soon for excerize.
