My newly adopted kitty has an appointment with the vet tomorrow because he's suffering from an upper respiratory infection. :( Because his eyes are very swollen and secreting lots of discharge I purchased these eye wipes to help remove some of the discharge. But for the past two days now his eyes just keep producing more goo. Every time I wipe them down the next morning, or when I come home from work, he just has more and more goo. I just hope I am helping and not hurting him by using these things. Maybe because of his URI I should be using them less frequently? Help!

Our George gets eye infections all the time. The vets says gentically his eyes are too narrow and his tear ducts are blocked. Poor baby boy !! (Might be why he was abandoned orginally ?)

As a preventive measure, we wipe the corners of this eye twice daily with eye wipes. We must keep the company afloat, with our purchases.
When he gets an infection we get a cream to use twice daily in his eyes, from the vets.

I think the eye wipes are a good thing to use generally but it sounds like your kitten may need some additional treatment.

I am pleased that you are going to the experts tomorrow, let us know that the vets say tomorrow.

Try using a warm moist facecloth 3 times a day. I'm sure the vet will give you Teramayacin to put in his eyes which will clear is right up.

He was diagnosed with congunctivitus :(

The vet gave me some medicine and told me not to waste money on wipes, just use a cotton ball and warm water.

So sorry about the kitty. I use the cotton balls and warm water on my Max all the time. Works like a charm. Get well soon little one!

Is it a clear discharge which is more like tears or is "goo"?
Em gets a runny eye but her discharge is clear and doesn't always happen. It seems to me more like an allergy than anything else (but I am not a vet).
She doesn't seem to be in pain and it is just in her one eye.
