I love to take my cat over to my friend Rhonda's house. She has a cat the same age as my Sonsy...her wonderful baby, Pawley. And we love it when she brings Pawley over to visit my baby Sonsy. The cats run and play and hide and sniff and hiss. They are somewhat happy...but they are grumpy a lot of the time. But my friend and I love it and enjoy it so much. Question is...is it better (for them) to leave them in comfort (and loneliness) in their own homes or to take them to their friends' homes and have them be uncomfortable but stimulated?

In my opinion, as long as the kitties see each other on a somewhat regular basis so they know each other, why not take them along. I believe that cats get used to things. For instance, long ago when Tubby was young, I lived in Green Bay, WI. I would often take Tubby when I went by my mom's house - which was at least once a month, and was a 30-40 minute ride. At first he didn't really enjoy the car ride, and once we got there he was a little tentative, but he soon got over that and I really believe he ended up looking forward to the visits.
So as long as the kitties seem to be enjoying it - why not?

I personally would NOT take the kitty to your friends, unless you are certain they are happy, if its just to please you and your friend then NO is the answer, their comfort is most important, and only take kitty if you are 100 per cent sure kitty derives pleasure from this visit. it sounds a little doubtful.

I take my kitten Demon to my best friend Kathleanas house, everytime I go. She leaves about 20 minutes away from my house. He loves riding in the car, then when we get to Kathleanas house I let him play with KAthleanas kittens Dutchus and Nickoli, (They are his older brother and sisters). He totally loves it. I do agree with both carole Tubby & Peanut's Mom I wouldn`t take my kitten if he didn`t enjoy it.

Why don't both you & your friends get a second kitten for your own kittens.
Then the kittens will get used to their new friends and be stimulated 24/7. You'll have no need to visit taking your cats, you can play with the pair at the house.
NB Things can get mad with two kittens in the house ;)
