Molly and Mike have 20, all rescues, and I believe they are the highest on Pet Talk. 4 Dog Mother actually has 5 dogs, and I'm pretty sure Twisterdog has quite a few too. 3 seems like a popular number too, I know a lot of members with 3, and many with 2, and 1. If I had the room, I would love to have more.

It is a sad state of affairs, but we are only allowed to own 2 dogs in a back yard here where I live. There are nasty people who would dob you into the local council if you had more. Regards Mich.

I'm at 1 right now. I'd love another within a couple years. I'd love to have ALOT of dogs but I'd only get as many as I can give attention to. Probably 4 or 5 max for me.

welcome 6puppy. :D I have two dogs, Tikeya and osca. My mom is adopting a third soon though. :D from the local spca we are adopting a female shih tzu who was at a puppy mill :(. :mad:. She is so happy :D. we MIGHT be naming her Shyla. cool ah? She is up for adoption next week :D *xcited* ..

I think you have to have a special licence to have more then teo dogs here in B.C canada, it is called a kenel licence?? correct me if I'm wrong. We have to get one befor we adopt Shyla..

Welcome to Pet Talk 6PUPPY! Your pups are soo cute!

I am owned by 2 dogs, Daisy, a 1.5 year old, female golden retriever, Molly, a 2.5 year old, female, sable and white rough collie. (both in my signature)

I am also owned by 2 cats, Dillian, a male, 3 year old shorthaired tabby mix, and Angel, a 5 year old longhaired tabby mix. I also have 1 golden hamster named Neko, (age unknown) and 6 desert tortoises.

same applies here....only on semi-rural, I think you can have 3 dogs, but the council still has the right to turn you down.

Even in town, you are allowed 2 dogs, which means you can have 2 Toy breeds, or 2 of the Giant breeds......isn't that silly...???

I don't have any doggies now:( :( :( But am godmother to 8. At one time I had 7-I couldn't bear to give up the puppies.
The law in Indiana, I think, is 6 before you have to have a kennel license.

I have one dog right now. I used to have a Golden, but she passed so right now we have one dog.
When we I get back from camp in a couple weeks, I'll be heading down to the local pound and getting a second one again. :)

I have three dogs right now. Even though I would love more, I really don't think I could handle it. My boys are pretty big, and require quite a lot of attention...lol...it would be tough to have even one more. But hey, maybe with some careful planning I could manage another...lol. Riiiight...probably not. ;)

I just have Ringo but I'd love one more I've been thinking and I may have Ringo until I'm almost 30! Don't need to start planing for my next dog anytime soon also when I do get a new dog I'll make sure it's not a puppy so I won't have to potty train:rolleyes:;)

We are only allowed to own 2 dogs in the suburbs, and in semi-rural, they can own3 but not often. We have rules here,...pity they can't tell the difference between 2 jack russels and 2 great danes..........just my little joke.

Just speaking of myself, I don't think I could ever have more then 5 dogs...and that's even pushing it. When I have my own house I'd like to have at least 3 siberian huskies. I do have 3 dogs right now, but Nebo is the only one who I take care of completely...he's my responsibility, and I have to provide food, vet, grooming, etc. etc. for him. It's a considerable amount of time and money. I can't imagine myself having many dogs and being able to provide them the individual attention I do to Nebo. I think it does depend on the person. Just remember each dog also comes with a large amount of time and money. :)

I have three dogs and at the moment that number is in a holding pattern.

As for the law that requires people to get a permit in some parts of Canada (like Edmonton I believe) it's called the Noah's ark law...don't know much about it only really know the name for it. All I know is that in Calgary it's not in effect.

I have six dogs and thats my max number of dogs i would have!
If you can afford everything for them and provide plenty of equal amonts of attention to each dog i dont think its unfair on them! i think twenty pet dogs is a bit extreme though!
