Drinking from the pool

My dog Sparky (Maltese X) drinks from the pool no matter how many bowls of fresh water we leave for him. It's a salt water pool but does produce chlorine, I'm wondering whether it might be bad for him.

I just did a quick search and all I saw was that it could make your dog ill if he drinks too much. I'll try to look more in depth and let you know if I find anything else.

Thanks Aly :) Sparky is 14 months old and has been doing this since he was a pup. He does drink fresh water whenever he is inside and always gobbles half a bowl full when he comes back from his walks, so he does drink fresh water as well.

Awww, he sounds like a character! :) Do you have any pics?

I imagine if he's been doing it since he was a pup and hasn't gotten sick yet, he should be ok? I'm not sure though. Maybe you could mention it to your vet next time he goes in for a check up.
