What a pretty Rottie. To me she doesn't look too fat. Most of the Rotties I've met & cared for have been about 200 pounds & the vet said they weren't over weight. She looks like german rottie & they're massive puppies... american rotties look stupid. they look just like dobermans (I'm not calling dobies stupid!!). German's r heavy & quite round. american's r thin & tall.

& I bet u anything, if u work her out more she'll put on more weight hehehehe.. Muscle is much heavier then fat heheheh

Well he has to take her to 'day care' cause hes not home a lot..and doesnt have time to walk her so it'll be good for her to get out for walks :) He really needs to get her a new leash though..its like REALLY thin..I guess you can see it in the pics..but do you see the black part? Its like more then half that thin..lol

tell him to go to pet value (or give u the money) & get the one for large breeds.. it'll be the same type of leash, except its thick all the way through. Rockies was red. it was the only leash we were able to walk him on, except the car chain.

I know it sounds mean, but if the rottie is too strong & doesn't know how to walk on a leash, he might want to invest in the largest prong choaker. Rocky was too darn stupid to learn how to walk. he use to drag 2 of us around. then we gave up & ran him with the 4 wheeler, until the prong choaker came to our town. We bought the largest one there (the thicker the prong the better chance it'll have in not harming the dog). We also decided to set it as far down his neck (the lower its set the better it is for his neck). Never pull back on the leash, for his first time using it make sure u give him no leash at all (so he'll learn it hurts if he pulls), u don't want him to learn it hurts the hard way, that'll cause damage to his neck.

Its a great tool for very stubborn & powerful dogs, if used properly.

I have a thicker one for mine which I'll use next time till he gets one. And I was thinking about getting a gentle leader for large breeds for her if he'd pay it. I had a prong thing for Jo, and it worked good but I like the gentle leader better :) You can get them for something her size right??

Rockey broke his gentle leader, thats why we went to the prong... but the gentle leader did work until Rocky saw something he wanted to kill. the plastic clip snaped

You should be able to get a gentle leader for a rottie, it all depends on muzzle size and if I remember correctly I saw some large breed sizes when I was shopping for one for Winter (can you believe she's a size 1) She's a very pretty dog though...You're right though she does seem a tad on the heavy side, well at least from the side view of her, there's not enough tuck. If you can't feel her ribs she's overweight :)

Caymen is beautiful - and she doesn't look seriously overweight, maybe just a few pounds. I'm sure a little exercise and maybe some low fat kibble will do the trick. Leo is part Rottie and he is a little on the bulkie side, but you can feel his ribs and he has a nice waist line - my vet said he is actually at the perfect weight (although he also said not to let him get any bigger :) )

Oh Yeah - I used the gentle leader with Leo - he was a terrible puller and it worked great!! Leo is 83lbs. I don't believe in prong collars, but that is my preference.

Thanks so much for sharing her pictures!

Personally I don't think she looks too big (like clara4457 said, maybe just a few pounds). She just looks very healthy:D
I'd love to be able to meet her!

She needs her workout. Dana (my boss) asked what we did to her cause this morning/last night she wasnt doing anything like shes really tired. Like I could take mine that far and they'd be ready for a long run at my cottage lol. Shes such a pretty dog, but it makes me a little nervous cause shes so big and shes not MY dog so I'm not farmilliar with her (I'm not afraid of her, but other ppl might be)
I can walk her even ever I want and if she gets alone with Jo then I told him I'd take care of her if he ever went away (save a lot from leaving her at a kennel) Her fur is amazingly soft too..I was suprised!
