IBD Kitty - Please help

15 year old Baby has been diagnosed w/IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). Started him on Prednisone Tuesday. He's still not very perky, but is interested in eating. Problem is we can barely get him to eat anything. Appreciate diet recommendations from anyone w/a kitty w/IBD. He's turning away from his favorite canned Iams, Prescription Diet K/D, and even baby food.

I know that Noah's Mommy has had similar problems with Micah. If you look through the "health" thread you will find some of the discussions that have been held on Micah or you could PM her directly.

What pretty kitty ... so sorry to hear of his IBD!!! I haven't had any experience with this with my cats ... but hang in there, I'm sure SOMEONE here on PT will have some great advice for you!;)

Welcome to Pet Talk!! What a handsome boy you have. I really have not had any experience with IBD so cannot offer up any suggestions. Sorry. Get better sweet boy!!

I have heard of the Z/D instead of the C/D...apparently it tastes better??? I would make sure all stressors are removed from this kitties home, as stress does alot for IBD....good luck!!

I currently have Micah on Science Diet W/D and he loves it! So do the other cats, they've been trying to steal is much more than his other food. ;) I've noticed less littter box time in only two days...I bet that would help Baby.

How was Baby diagnosed with IBD?
