What time do you give the Benadryl? Maybe you could give it at night instead of morning?

It may be the benadryl but I'm not too sure. What time do you feed her? I find that, if I feed Kai right before he goes to bed, he'll be up ALOT longer..and that's definately not good for me since he sleeps in the same room. You could possibly try pooping her out by exercise or mental stimulation before bed time.

our vet told us to give her benadryl because she had a really bad scratching problem, we feed her i guess around 5:30 or 6:00 shes not a big eater:) She is a West highland White Terrier.

Welcome to Pet Talk! Oh, I love Westies. Used to have one.

We give Chester Benadryl almost daily and it doesn’t make him drowsy. We asked the Vet before we started giving it to him if it would and he said Benadryl doesn’t usually have the same effect on dogs as on a human, so it shouldn’t make him sleepy.

Is she home alone all day? Do you play with her a lot in the evening? I find that if you walk them and play with them (just wear her out), they’ll sleep better and so will you.

PS. Pics would be warmly welcomed!! :D :D :D

how old is your Westy? If it is young, then they do have quite a few naps during the day, but as for staying up all night, maybe exercise is the answer, I don't know.
