I dont think I have ever seen a baby squirrel befor, so this is just great. I love thoughs lil faces, happy pet of the day to you Thelma and Lousie.
I don't venture over to the Pet Boards too much, but today is certainly an exception. Your story made me smile! If you had to fall out of a tree you picked the right one. You landed in the most capable hands! I am so happy that you are both thriving, and I do believe you are the first pet squirrels I have ever known. Congratulations to you both on being a super duper pair of Pets of the Day!

I raised two flying squirrels, Gomer and Goober-they were always stealing jewelry and hiding it-hmm Maybe I should have named them Bonnie and Clyde. Thelma and Louise are sooo adorable!! :D

Isn't Piglet a cute little mommy?
Live long & healthy, happy, loved & cherished with your furson (your human Mommy) who rescued you and loves you both so very much. My KatMa rescued me (she didn't realize the moment she first saw me I had adopted her). A picture of me with my kittens -- KatMa found loving, forever homes for all of my babies.

Oh so cute!! My family tried to raise a baby squirrel who had fallen out of a tree once, (I was really young so I barely remember.. my parents took care of him). Unfortunately however, he didnt live very long. :( This was before we had a computer and long before we had the internet! haha Here are the 2 photos we have of the little guy:

His name was Humphrey, because he fell out of a tree on Humphrey street.
But anyhoo.. I was wondering about Thelma & Louise, where do they live? Do they just roam around the house as they please? Do they have a cage? Can they be litter box trained?? hehe Just curious what its like to live with a squirrel! :D

Looking for Thelma and Louise.
Was just wondering if you still had the female squirrels.
I know that this thread was posted some time ago, but I, myself, am the proud parent of one male squirrel, Winchester, and didn't know of any other way of contacting you.
Please message me or something.
Thank you.

Hi Blackwhiskeyblaze & Winchester, the Squirrel --
Re the black squirrels -- they visited my friend, Myra's apartment for six years. We've waited for them to come back but they did not in 2006. Since we live in a very urban area [population 3.5 million] we hope they are still alive and were not hit by cars.
The neighbour who lives behind me has a squirrel, Chi-Chi who fell out of a tree this Spring as a baby. They rescued the squirrel, named him Chi-Chi & he is living very happily with them, one big old dog, and five cats. He responds to them when they call out "Chi-Chi". The dog & the cats never, ever bother Chi-Chi. They have figured out he is "one of the clan" -- a big clan: 2 humans, one big, old dog, 5 cats & 1 squirrel :) .
I watch Chi-Chi play in their backyard, then run up the bricks right into the water drain pipe from the roof. He pops out on the roof and walks along the roof line, surverying his terroritory. Then Chi-Chi runs down the brick wall onto the balcony. He sits on the window sill & taps the window for the door to be opened. Even though the window is always open for Chi-Chi to get in and out of the house, he likes to use the door :D
Please send me photos of your pet squirrel, Winchester.

I am sorry to hear that the squirrels have not yet returned, but I am sure that they are alright. They are probably off on some big adventure.
Chi Chi sounds as if he has found a great new home there as well. I love how he taps at the window, they are very smart, indeed.
I found Winchester clinging to the hotel room door shortly after hurricane Katrina. The poor fellow must have lost his home and family, who knows, but he sure was frightened.
He was only a month or so old when I found him.
I had no place to keep him on our road trip, so he ended up with Brimstone, the rabbit. I had put up a divider at first, but that soon came down and I found them getting along just fine; he had found his new mother. He use to sleep beneath her and ride along on her back. As cute as that was, I soon had to seperate them when he began to teethe.
He has since become quite the hooligan around the house... He loves to steal all sorts of shiny things and knaw on whatever he can find.
I have also learned some very valuable, or invaluable squirrel language as he has learned ours as well. He listens when you call him and goes right back into his cage when it is time, though sometimes he could use a little persuasion... my old trusty water pistol. He follows me around at my feet and climbs me as if I were a tree.
He has become quite the addition to the family and is loved very dearly.
