which do you like best?
I'm really not sure, I would like them to be friendly, like Cassie is, but then she is more likely to go with them or possibly get outside. the others hide, I don't like them to be frightened, but at least then I know they will stay in the house.

My cats are all social and I love that. I also love going to someone else's house and their cats being friendly and not running away and hiding.

I would rather have them be sociable. However, that can be a pain sometimes too. Terry is on our Townhome Association Board and they had their monthly meeting at our house last Tuesday. I didn't want to lock the cats up so I just hung around and tried to keep them away. Tubby, being is usual sociable self, was sniffing everybody and looking for pets all around. One time he put his front feet up on the edge of one woman's chair. I pulled him away and made him lay down on the rug to watch - but not participate. Well, I turn my back for half a second and next thing you know he's in this ladies lap! Everyone was surprised - but he did get a few laughs as I picked him up and made him lay down again. After that everytime he started heading for the table, I headed him the other way. By about half way through the evening, he got the picture and would walk by the table and look at everybody, but wouldn't make an attempt to go near them - knowing I was standing right there ready to head him off. ;) :D It was funny to watch.
Peanut, on the other hand, isn't quite so trainable, so it wasn't a bad thing that she didn't even come out of the bedroom until half way through the meeting. But once she did, she was everywhere, sniffing everybody and everything and meowing - she never meows! It was quite comical to watch them both. I eventually had to pick Peanut up and hold her so she wouldn't bother everybody. Goofy kitty. ;) :D

Actually i feel somewhat different about this, Lexie is a scaredy cat, and runs away from strangers and because she spends some time outdoors, i am happy, at least no moron can harm her hopefully, i really dont care if she likes no one else as long as she loves us and she does, besides she is getting quite sociable to people who come over more often now.
I have one of each. Trevor will stay in the room when company comes and, if he feels so inclined, will welcome them with a rub up against their legs (not a good thing when they are wearing dark clothes  ).
Andy, on the other hand, is like a streak of white lightning when someone comes to visit. He is through the cat flap to the basement in an instant and doesn't reappear until they leave. If he happens to recognize the voices of the 'intruders' he will come back up sooner though.
