Pug and Pekinese- Related?

I have heard that Pugs and Pekineses are related, and also that if you shave a Pekinese, it will look like a Pug. Is this true?

I guess they could look the same if the peke was shaved, but i dont think they are realted.:)

Well, All dogs are related, 1 Their ALL dogs, 2 They ALL Came from Wolves, (My dog has a higher Percentage of wolf, His mother was 83 percent wolf, The rest German Shepherd, Father was pure Shepherd)But yeah, I Think their CLOSELY related. Alot more close than others.

All breeds are related, but I assume you mean more closely related..;)

I'm not sure about how close they are with the pug , but I know that the pekignese is most closely related to the shi tzu :) That's because in the early 1900's, shi tzus started to look more and more like lhasa apsos, and so breeders started breeding them with pekigneses to make their faces flatter. ;)

There snouts look alot alike, but I dont know about the whole entire body.
