Is it possible for dogs to shed only through being brushed?
Timber is two years old, and she has never shed. She has thick fur, with God only knows how many layers of fur, and yet she doesn't shed?
When I brush her though, I can get some hair out. Is that just her personal way of shedding? Or is there no explanation to this except that my dog is one big weirdo? :p

Some dogs coats are thick, with an undercoat, and just about only brushing will release the loose fur. As long as she gets a good deep brushing regularly, to prevent matts, I wouldn't worry about it.
Some dogs, like poodles, have hair, not fur, and don't shed ever.

I think you're right about the brushing getting it loose :) I never get too much fur off of her, but I figure it's cuz I brush her a billion times a day and never get a chance to see how much fur comes off all together lol
Thanks ;)

What kind of brush do you use? Have you ever used and undercoat rake? I've seen dogs you can brush and brush with a slicker brush and not much comes off at all.....until you get a good deep undercoat rake.

Yup, I have a steel-tooth undercoat rake, and I also have one of those double sided brushes, like this one:

And I have a pin brush as well. I use all of them everyday..
I'm an obsessive brusher...:p

Oh maybe I should try the undercoat rake. Kai hasn't shed yet since we had him..he should have shed at least once i think?

As funny as it sounds...Daisy hardly sheds! She doesnt have a real long coat! Molly sheds more then her:rolleyes: :D
No, But yes, They have already shed'ed, But the hair they have shed'ed is still stuck to the other hair, you even touch it litely and it will come off.
