The cat room at my house is getting a little crowded, but there always seems to be room for one more.

I trapped a cute little gray & white boy on Wednesday night. He had been feeding at the dish on my front porch for a few weeks. He seems to be fairly young and scared, but not feral.

He went to the vet for the big snip and shots yesterday. He'll reside in a big cage for the next three weeks, get his booster shot and join the other 6 in the room and outside pen.

The other cats are a little concerned since he has quite a yowl. No one wanted breakfast this morning, but I'm sure they'll eat tonight.

I'll try to get a pic or 2 over the week end.

Welcome to the family Mr. gray-and-white-boy! :D Hope that you recover from surgery quickly, we know it was no fun but it's for your own good! :) Don't be yowling at the others, they are your new family! They mean you no harm.

Mary, thanks for rescuing yet another homeless kitty!!! I hope things settle down soon and he gets a name! ;)

Still scared, but finally eating. His first meal was Saturday night, by his choice. I've been keeping the cage covered some of the time so he isn't intimidated by the herd. He will sniff my fingers without hissing or swatting. Doesn't want to be touched yet. Last night he actually nibbled a few pieces of food while I was in the room.

He seems to be a young guy, maybe 9 months to a year.

Bless his heart, Mary. He does look frightened. But he'll come around, I'm sure. Thank you for being so kind to him.

What is it with gray and white boys with spots on their nose? ;) :D

He's a cutie! I'm sure he'll warm up to you in no time. :)

In this case I think the spot on his nose is a scratch.

He likes to wake me up at 5AM every morning with his loud meowing. As soon as I serve breakfast, it's quiet again, even though he doesn't eat. No mad dash for the door when I open it; either he's too scared or not anxious to escape.

A couple of the cats are curious about their new housemate, rubbing against the cage and sniffing Scooter. Only Ghost, the older male, has hissed at him. But then Ghost is my resident Old Grouch.

What a cutie pie, my girlfriends cat is grey and white and is called scooter, they thought he was a boy, but found out he is a girl, but kept the name anyhow.

Scooter was supposed to get his booster shot Tuesday. After I scared the daylights out of him getting him in the carrier, I find out that the vet is gone for the week!

I took poor Scooter home and let him loose with the other cats in the room. He promptly 'scooted' out the cat flap and into the pen. He bounced off of walls for a while--really!--and settled under the plant. When I tried to take his dinner to him, he flew back up the ramp and into the house again.

He seems to be a little less scared, but still very wary. It may be a long time before I can touch him. I think he'll do better out of the cage than in it. He has touched noses with Mooch and Shai, and runs from BC. He accepts food from me now, so I guess that's a good sign.

There are no real hiding places in the cat room, just open carriers and a box with a 3/4 length curtain. He likes the box best :D

I can finally pet Sox. She's my tux that I've had since February. She's still a little skittish, but comes to me for attention in the evening. She likes to get her cheeks rubbed and gentle strokes down her back. She's crazy about Mooch!

I'll update if (when) I make some progress.

My Bob was a wall-climber who took a long, long time to settle into being a house cat, and he's still a no-see-em when anyone visits, but he's entirely comfortable now with me and with the other cats. We have long happy belly-rub sessions on the sofa--he purrs like thunder. :D

I'm sure Scooter will figure out that he's got the good life now, and he'll settle down and enjoy it. :D
