I had a beautiful dog once named Kiche and while searching for pictures of her online, I found this web page and the dog of the day (that day) was also named Kiche.

I was just curious to know, for anyone who knows, what it the correct pronunciation? I said it like key-chay.

Gee, I'm not sure. Seems it could be open to several different pronunciations. Could also be "quiche" "kitch" "key-sha"... Do you know if the name has a specific origin, cultural link?? I don't think there's any "right" pronunciation. I'm sorry about the loss of your dog:(

The name is Native American, from the Yurok or Aleut tribes I think. I got it from the book White Fang .

Thanks for the welcome though :)

My Kiche was a Coyote/German Shepherd mix. When I post from home, I'll have to share her picture.
