My husband and I have been thinking about getting a dog for a while now. He is in love with the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (as some of you may know, who went to the PA Pettalk meeting...i was telling you about it)...well, we have been in touch with a breeder and visited a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog "show" the other day in PA. Rob contacted a breeder via email (he was also at the event we went to...and we met one of his dogs)...well he emailed us back today, and said that his one female is expecting a litter today or tomorrow...so if all goes well, we may be the proud owners of a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy in around 8 weeks....Yeah!! I am excited and my husband is doing flips...he LOVES this breed, as i do, but he was the first one to introduce me to this breed.
So i will keep you updated and if i get any pics, i will post them :)

Since this breed is a very large breed, i am requesting a female, they are slightly smaller, and supposedly a little more affectionate...although, the breed as a whole, is considered to be a great family dog and great with kids...if raised properly...he/she will be put into obidence school...and learn from the start who is alpha in our family...since they get to be SO big, they have to be taught that when they are young (and small) :) I'll keep you updated :)
