Vomiting

I've had Max for 17 days and he's vomited 3 times. Yesterday he vomited yellow bile first thing in the morning, then this morning he vomited last night's dog food right after we brought him in from his first trip outside.

A few days ago after we took him for a long walk he came home and drank too much water and vomited that up.

He's never vomited more than once in a day, his belly's not swollen, and he doesn't seem to be in any distress.

Should I be concerned?

Sorry to hear that Max has been vomitting and I hope he feels better soon.

I don't know what the problem could be, but I think you should call your vet and describe the symptoms as you have here on Pet Talk and he/she can tell you whether you have something to worry about or not.

It's probably a good idea to check with the vet but I don't think there is too much to worry about. Drinking water too fast especially after exercise can upset a dog's or a human's stomach. Our dogs sometime have a single or more case of vomiting and unless it is something that does not stop within a an hour or so we don't worry about it.

Dogs are kind of like people, some seem to get upset stomachs more often than others. Our Dazzi has had some bouts with her stomach where I can't think of a time, Snoopy has been sick to his stomach; and I am don't think Taggert has had much of a problem either.

Dazzi used to chew on one of those braided knotted ropes - one night - very late at night like around midnight - she kept getting sick. She acted like something was stuck in her throat. With Christy holding her, Carl forcing her mouth open, I found a string stuck between two of her back teeth. She would swallow it but it wouldn't go down and it would gag her. We were all glad to find what was making her sick and when I pulled it loose her stomach settled down quickly.:)

Abbey is our vomiter. She throws up that yellow stuff too--sometimes early in the morning--usually before she eats if she is hungry--I don't know why, but after she eats then she is fine. I had a similar experience as Dazzi did--Abbey was throwing up last week, and finally, after the third time, I found a green piece of plastic in it--she got ahold of a toy she wasn't supposed to have and swallowed a piece.
Checking with your vet is always a good idea, but I doubt it's anything to worry about.

Maybe it's the food? He may have a sensitive stomach....iunno only your vet can tell you what you need to do.

Ditto for upchucking the yellow bile and an occasional meal (which is then reingested:rolleyes: ). I feed my dogs twice a day and they get a cookie before bed. They eat really early in the morning, which is helpful. Doesn't sound like anything to worry about just yet.

my one poodle throws-up like that to. last night was really bad; i called the vet he had a reaction to the distemper/parvo she said give him 1 tsp. of pepto, ok lol getting it down him. i would call your vet. though, but chances are there is nothing to worry about. lisa hope he gets better soon
