View Full Version : Maggie is GONE!!!!!

I fed her this morning, but thought she was hiding in the cat tree thing. The cloth had been pulled down, something I thought she had done to have a better hiding spot.
We went out for Mother's Day and returned about a half hour ago and she's gone! There's no where indicating HOW she got out. All three bolts were closed....all wire fencing was intact.
I don't how she got out. :(   I'm so upset and worried for her. :( :( :(

Poor Maggie, where are you ?
I wonder how she escaped, may she be healthy & happy, whenever she is.
Maybe she is meant to be out there ?
Please, Keep us updated.

That's what I was thinking. :( I guess all I can do is pray for her. I feel so bad that I took her away from her kitty friends and that now she'll be alone.

Don't worry, she'll find new friends (if you don't manage to catch her in the mean time).
But the important thing is she is spayed. You have done a great thing for Maggie, she'll no longer be drained from providing for unwanted kittens.
Plus, she must be in a good shape, to have escaped your holding cage.

I'm sorry to hear that she escaped, but even then she is still better off because of you. She's is now fixed and she won't have to go through the pain of having more babies. THank you so much for everything you have done for her.

OMG! An escape!
Prolly the first thing is to set da Trap and hope she gets hungry enough to fall for it again.
As for "how"... could she have possibly *squeezed* through the wire mesh?
See what happens with the trap for the next few days... She might have enjoyed "regular meals" to the point where she won't be very fearful of the food/trap combo in the yard.
And how far *UP* is her Condo - CAN she climb up and get into the Condo? If she can get back up there, put a bowl of food inside the Condo.
GOOD LUCK!!
And Hey! C'mone Back, Lil Grey!! ;)

Oh no, how sad! Maybe she's coming back when she's in the mood for a good meal?
I hope she shows up again so you'll know she's alright!

My first instinct is to say are you 100 % sure she is not hiding inside her enclosure? You may think I am insulting your intelligence, but I have had cats (several) that hid in their single room (no possible escape) so well that I was CERTAIN they DID get out. They blend into the environment. I mean, if you can't find an opening...........
BUT....after you're certain she's out I have to agree that trying to recapture her is the best thing to do. If she needs to live outside, she will do better in the place she was familiar with.
Good luck

Kelly,
Don't panic. At least she's spayed, so there's no worry about having anymore babies. Is it possible for someone to gain access to your deck? Since everything (wire, bolts, etc.) are in tact, and there is absolutely no other way she could've gotten out, it COULD be that someone took her.
Please keep us posted. If you need to talk, call me, okay??

OMG!! I certainly hope that she's ok wherever she is. How heavy is the enclosure? Could she have somehow squeezed underneath the enclosure, if it's not bolted to the ground??

:( Oh no! Is there anyway she could have just pushed out? Poor little girl. I hope she will come back to you, she knows thats where food is anyway, so she might!

I'm thinking I mistook her calmness for fear. :( She must have really wanted out and was really smart to do it at night. :(
I can only pray that she'll be safe. Zippy-kat had a wonderful idea. She suggested I trap Gracie and bring her home to the enclosure as well as possible feral/stray kitty #3 and see if Maggie comes back.
There's no way she could have gotten out UNDER the cage. Its so heavy we can't even push it against the balcony wall. The door has wide hinges and three bolts....she couldn't have fit through there either. I assume she squeezed between the bars, she was a tiny thing, I would say Micah's size.

I'm so sorry about Maggie! I hope she comes back is is ok.
Aww, Kelly, what a shame. I hope you can find her again. But having her spayed was wonderful of you to do......and at least you know unwanted babies won't be born.
