I have a Tabby girl named Tess and a male Aby called Costello. They often play very well together but sometimes the game ends up in a real fight. Costello has grown very big and muscular and Tess is quite small, so it's a bit hard for her.
Do your cats get along fine together?

As a matter of fact, they do. But then I am maybe more used to the "squabbliong" that goes along with any family. When my friend comes over and hears the loudness made by the cats play/fighting, she always worries that they are hurting one another. I on the other hand, know better. The only *screaming* that bothers me is when Sterling (or any other cat) goes after Fern. They mean no harm, but she HATES them. So I yell at them to leave her alone and go play with someone else.

They are best buddies and then the squabbling starts but it never lasts long and then they groom eachother.

lailamara!
What a great picture of the cats fighting! Looks like a big argue.
This is Tess & Costello in another kind of mood:

My two cats Tibby and Corkscrew get along great, they fight sometimes but I know they are just playing. But when you add my roommates cat into the picture it's a totally different story, Corkscrew has scratched her nose and eye and bit her ear enough to leave bad scars. They really hate each other, when we are at home they are a little more behaved because they don't want to get sprayed with the water bottle. But sometimes when we get home we'll see the cuts on Sasha from where Corkscrew bit her.

Beau and Felicia don't get along like I think they should.:(
Felicia is alright as long as Beau dosen't get too close.
I wonder if they get along better when I am not home.

Lailamara, isn't that Maya at the left, trying to bite Bodhi?
I also loved that picture of Tess and Costello sleeping together.

Yes that's my girl Maya. She is such a little trouble maker. Bodhi is very patient with her and when she's in a quiet mood she does a good job washing his ears.
Tubby & Peanut's Mom

Wow, what great pics showing the "other" side of our sweeties. ;) :D
I was also concerned at first because Tubby is so much bigger than Peanut, but I soon learned that Peanut can take care of herself, and she can also find hiding spots that Tubby can't get to, and I also discovered that at least 1/2 the time she was the instigator, so I stopped worrying. ;)
The good news is that as they get older the squabbles get less and less. I was not fortunate enough to have them snuggle and groom each other either before or after the squabbles though. :(
Now they mostly leave each other alone....except when Tubby decides to lick Peanut's head for some odd reason, and she doesn't like it so she'll haul off and swat him one, which starts a minor spat. I still don't get this, but it has gotten better....

Only HALF the time? Little girl Jan is THE instigator in the family even though she is just half the size of Sid or Joxer. If she is in a rowdy mood and decides that she wants to chase or play or bother one of the boys, she is merciless.

Mine do something similar... they usually get along great and play fine... but Loki (the male) frequently doesn't seem to understand when Ananda wants to stop playing and she starts yowling and eventually hissing and swatting at him to no avail... she'll even run away and Loki will follow (presumable thinking this is part of the playing)
I'm never sure what I should do with them when this occurs
So... Anyone- when should they be left alone and how do you know when to seperate them?
(Oh- and if that isn't enough Loki seems to think that Ananda's tail is the perfect cat toy... ARgh... I'm not sure what to do with him)
