not so great news for Abbey

The vet called me today, with the results of the culture she did on Abbey last week when she got her stitches. She did a culture out of precaution, and it turns out she does have an infection--a pretty bad one, but I don't remember the name (I will get it tomorrow). She has been on an antibiotic, but this infection is so strong that it fights most medicines. I have to go and pick up a new antibiotic for her tomorrow, and I will talk to the vet and get the name and spelling of the bacteria--I just couldn't understand her on the phone.
I'm hoping this is easily controlled by the meds, and that she isn't in any pain right now, poor girl:(
We would appreciate any good PT vibes we can get.

I picked up the prescription today, and talked to the vet. She asked me if Abbey was acting different at all, and I said YES, she is so hyper it's not even funny!!! That is good news, because sometimes the infection can cause them to be lethargic and just not feeling well. She was very glad to hear that Abbey is going for long walks and runs, and running around the house and playing.
What she has is a bacteria called pseudomonias--it's common for dog bites apparently, and the anitbiotic should clear it up and she will be fine.
She also has an appointment on Thursday to get those awful stitches removed, so that will be good!!

I think she's doing good--if she could talk, I would ask her--it's frustrating!
She's acting like her normal goofy self, playing with Riley and sleeping normally, so that's good. She was limping yesterday in the morning, but I figured that was probably since her leg didn't move all night.
Thursday is white coat day, so I guess we'll know then!!!!!!
