Are cat leashes fair or unfair to the cat?

My kitties are indoor only so I don't have any leashes. But, if I were to give them access to the outdoors, I would use a leash without hesitation. Not sure what you mean by unfair?? I don't think kitties mind it when leashes are used. Anybody else with comments??

To give our inside cat a bit of an outdoor experience, we take her to explore the garden. We have a harness and leash especially designed for cats, and she doesn't mind putting it on, because she knows it means she is going outside. (I also put the harness on without the leash when we go to the vet - it gives me something else to hang on to!

I dont think a leash on a regular collar would do much good for Ally, she would wiggle out of it too quickly!

I suppose the cat's reaction depends on whether they are used to wearing a collar - Ally doesn't wear a collar, but she has been wearing her harness for "walkies" since she was a kitten, so she doesn't mind it

I have trained Nakita on a harness and leash in order to have her enjoy the outdoors. Since I am in the city, she wouldn't be allowed to just roam outside unattended, so a harness and leash is required.

It keeps her safe and at the same time allows her to 'expand' her inside existence to the outdoors!

Not sure how this could be considered unfair.
