My boyfriend, Kevin, grew up with his step-dad who had a Tennessee Walker. Kevin tells me it's a coonhound the size of a big beagle.

I haven't heard much about the breed and I can't seem to find any web sites about it. Does anyone own one? And if so can you point me in the direction where I can read a little more about the breed.

We are looking to adopt a new puppy. I thought since he always loved the breed I would start with the shelters in New Jersey, but I couldn't find anything there either. I did my search on Perfinder.org.

Any help would be appreciated.

He's just got the name wrong, that's all. A Tennessee Walker is a horse! He's thinking of a "Treeing Walker Coonhound" I bet as they look like taller beagles.
