wow... I never thought I'd be writing this letter.

My friend has come onto hard times. She lost her job, and now they are refusing to contribute to their part of the unemployment as bills are piling up.

She is moving back in with her dad and can only take one cat with her. She's decided to take Max since he tolerates the dog and her dad. Miss Kitty likes neither of them.

I am looking for a good home for my Miss Kitty before I turn her over to the shelter. This breaks my heart to have to give her up. I don't have a picture of her right now to send, but if someone thinks they have a good home for her, I can email one to you. She is a nine year old, black and white, adult cat. She has all of her shots and is fully declawed. She is well behaved, except she would probably do better in a household without other animals because of her age. She would make the ideal companion for a single person. She does not bite and is pretty independent. If you know anyone who would like her, please let me know.

Donna, you met my friend at the cat show.

I expressed my frustration at the situation. :( I'd take her but she loathed Kia the few times I visited her apartment.

Please no hateful remarks.....

Very very sad. Are there no safe shelters for her to go to ? Or possibly a foster home? Another family member? After all, if things get back to normal, wouldn't it be great to take her back again? I would foster a kitty under those terms, maybe someone else would too. It sure is worth a try. Try EVERYWHERE.............the shelters, vets, groomers, pet sitting services.....anyone sympathetic to animals. Someone might know of someone. Good luck.

Kim,

Yes, I remember her. That's too bad about her job. I know exactly how she feels. I only wish I could take her (she sounds like she needs to be an only cat). Does she know of anyone who can foster the cat till she gets back on her feet?

Like Jen said, how about checking with her vet? Can someone there foster Miss Kitty till your friend gets back on her feet??

Please keep me posted.

Kimmy,

I think I might have a home for Miss Kitty. My friend Kathy said a friend of hers who is 73 is looking for a declawed lap kitty!!! Let's hope it works out!!

I talked to Donna on the phone... the reason I hadn't updated this thread in awhile is because my friend will probably be able to keep Miss Kitty but will have to find a home for Max.

He is quickly wearing out his welcome by puking everywhere, making messes, and going after Peaches, her dad's old, blind, and partially deaf dog.

Miss Kitty on the other hand is being very good, ignoring the dog, and loving up to her dad.

I emailed my friend with the info Donna has. :)

Will Max be needing a home then instead of Miss Kitty?

Possibly. My friend keeps me updated when she can. She's been having a hard time getting everything settled and is still in the process of moving and other personal problems.

She's hoping she'll be able to keep them both.
