Good Morning Everyone:)
Due to the current controversy in whether adult dogs need an annual booster or not.. I would like to know how all of you feel about this?..I personally feel it is a good safety measure, but then I am no vet either..lol
What's your opinion?

Yes!!
I have had my dogs less than a year, but they will be getting annual boosters.
Growing up, we always had dogs, and they had their boosters every year.

I take my Giant to shows and classes often so I vaccinate every year. In most areas it's the law to have a rabies vaccine.

Thanks for the input...I was not talking about rabies as I consider that to be aside from the normal vaccinations, and of course goes without saying, just as flea and heartworm prevention does. But just your basic yearly boosters is what I was referring to. Thanks again!!
Jaquetta:)
I was asking my vet about annual boosters
last week. (Sheba was due for her DHLPP)
I read an article about a debate in changing
the proticall in giving shots every 3 years vs annually.
My vet said he still believes it is necessary for
annual boosters, unless you are going to
to do a blood titer (sp) test to make
sure your dog is protected.
He said, if our dogs have not had an reaction to
the shots than do them annually at this point.
(I am still debating about future yearly shots since
vets seem to differ.)
I ended up giving Sheba the puppy shot. :)
I've been trying to look this up on the net...I also picked up a book saying that you should give one every 3. Kai's only had his puppy sets so far...but after that..he's only going to get one every 3. I'll get those titer tests though just to be safe.
