One of my favorite Pet talk Pals has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Sandra's sweet Guinea pig boy Squeekers had been ill for some time. It was determined he had a stone in his bladder and was in lots of pain when he would urinate. He went to the RB last night during surgery. He had very caring vets who tried to bring him back for 20 minutes but it was not to be. He was kissed by his Mommy, went to sleep and woke up at the Rainbow Bridge with angels and maybe God himself smiling at him.

I feel like he was one of my own even though I never met him in person. I love the picture Sandra had of him after his tubby in her signature. I was proud to be his honorary Aunt Connie. Sandra asked that I tell all of you who she loves so much about Squeekers as she doesn't feel up to posting it herself yet.

Squeekers, my sweet friend, every night I asked Sandra to give you a kiss on your little head. Now every night I will ask God to do it until she meets you at the Rainbow Bridge and can do it again. You fought long and hard sweetie. Now it's time for you to rest and play with the others at the Bridge. Now you are in no pain and needn't fight anymore. You will be loved forever.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds as though Squeekers was very special and well loved. I'm sure he led the guinea pig's dream of a life and never had a bad day.

Dear Sandra ~

I offer you and the Family my sympathies on the
passing of Squeekers to the Rainbow Bridge. :(

Safe Trip to the Bridge, lil Squeek!
Look up Fred, the First Kat - there wasn't a Mousie she ever met (several - IN the house) that she didn't enjoy a gentle romp of Chase & Tag with... and never harmed a hair on their little bodies! I'm sure she will show you around the Bridge and share her krunchies with you!

Take comfort, Sandra, in knowing that you gave Squeekers the
Best Piggie Home possible -
this side of Heaven!

Rest In Peace, Dear Lil Squeekers!

*The truth about the pennies you find....

I found a penny today
Just laying on the ground,
But it's not just a penny
This little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven
That's what my Grandpa told me,
He said Angels toss them down
Oh, how I loved that story.

He said when an Angel misses you
They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up
To make a smile out of your frown.

So don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue,
It may be a penny from heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.*

As I walked to get in our car this afternoon, there right by the door was a penny. Immediately and without a doubt I knew the penny was from the newest little Angel Squeekers. It was for me to be sure to send his message to his Mommy, yes he misses her, but also *to cheer her up...to make a smile out of her frown*.

Sandra, you did not let Squeekers down. You tried everything humanly possible to help him. That's all he would ask of you. Neither did he let you down. He tried with all his might to get better and be strong for his Mom. You both loved each other more than any of us can imagine.

much you loved him. I'm sure there's nothing to be forgiven for.
Squeekers was an adorable, sweet friend & you loved him very
much. May his tiny soul rest in peace. I'm also sure Squeekers
is in the Best of company at Rainbow Bridge. Hugs from Liz.

Oh Sandra, how could you think that you let him down? Many a pet owner would not have even tried to save a pocket-sized pet. Everything that could have been done was BEING done, but sometimes that is not enough.:( RIP dear beloved Squeekers. Be happy and healthy at the RB. You will be missed.

Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear about Squeekers. :( I know he had been sick for quite a while and that you did everything you could for him. Sometimes this just isn't enough because it was just his time to go to Rainbow Bridge. Now he's healthy again and running around playing with all the other piggies. Rest in peace sweet Squeekers. Sandra I am so sorry :( I was shocked and the tears already filled my eyes before I even opened the thread. I had no idea the little darling was sick, so it's a complete shock for me. I am so sorry that I didn't know he was sick :( I am also so sorry that he had to leave you, but it was for the best. You are such a wonderful person and you did everything humanlly possible to help that gentle little soul. I truly think that he couldn't have had any better of a home. He was VERY lucky to have had the fortune of being your little piggy and friend. He will be missed :(

I am so very sorry :( Peace to you, the family, and Moonbeam.

Oh, dear, dear Sandra!!! You did NOT let little Squeekers down. Don't even think that for a moment!! He had the best doctors! He had the best medical treatment! Nothing more could have possibly been done, that you haven't tried. No, you did not, in any way, let sweet Squeekers down. It was his time. God called him. He had to answer.

When I heard the horrible news, I could not stop crying. I did know how ill he was, though. He is no longer in pain now.

Dear Squeekers, look up my Wolf at Rainbow Bridge, he's been there for a long, long time now....he used to play with my golden hamster, Hammy, look him up, too.

Sandra, I lit a candle for Squeekers. It is blue. Squeekers was loved so much in his lifetime. He was such a lucky little guy! Dear Sandra, you will be in my thoughts. I know how hard it is losing a loved one. I am with you in spirit, sending you a big hug. {{HUG}}

I LOVE the sink picture. Squeekers is so precious. Rest in peace, little one, you are loved.

Oh Sandra, oh dear. Don't be upset or sad, because you know that Squeakers is happy, and soft, and at peace, because he knows that everyone he cares about is alright. And nothing has form but is gentle and fuzzy and blurry and warm, and he has a full tummy and a nice bed of hay to have a long sleep on.
Be safe, baby Squeakers. Our thoughts are with your mommy.

Never was a piggie loved
Like silly little Squeakers
Plenty of kisses and treats he got
And thanks he said with wheekers!

Handsome yes, and silly, too
A blonde like Momma who love him true
Squeakers in the family played his part
And those piggie brown eyes could steal your heart

Play nice at the Rainbow Bridge, Squeakers dear
And know your Momma's love will always be near
Send her whiskers kisses tonight when she sleeps
And the reunion promise of the Rainbow Bridge don't forget to keep

Good-bye, sweetie Squeakers
We love you!

Sandra I keep looking at that pictures of little Squeekers in the sink. How very cute and special he was! Thank you for once again posting that. Sandra you absolutely did not let him down. You never once stopped trying to help him. Please don't blame yourself. It was just 'his time' to join the others at the Bridge.

Rachel the poem was beautiful and the found penny was remarkable! I have been meaning to mention also that I really love your new signature. Your two look like peas in a pod! :)

Thinking of you today, dear Sandra. These are the hardest days. Later, you will be able to smile again, when you think of little Squeekers. Tell us some of the funny little things that he did to make you smile? I'd love to hear them.

Remember, too, that dear Squeekers is now with precious Jingles, so he is safe and happy and free to run like the wind (even if his little feet don't get him too far!) I smile to think of it.

Hang in there. We are with you!

I agree, Sue, those little feet must be going like crazy to keep up with the big ones. I can also imagine a little toothy smile. You lit a candle, Sue, today I played a special CD - Roger William's *To Amadeus With Love* It is the CD I had played when my Tizzie went to the RB. The first selections are rather somber, but as the CD continues with more tracks, the music lightens and provides a backdrop to joyous romping and *running like the wind*. Even though I can't play this CD without tears, it always brings the picture into focus of the delight of our babies to run free without pain or discomfort.

Sandra, Squeekers will never be forgotten. His name shall remain in our hearts.

I wanted to let you all know how much your kind words, your caring sentiments, your beautiful poems meant to me. I know that Squeeks is so happy to know that so many cared for him.

The circumstances of his passing and it's suddeness were so difficult to believe and accept. I wasn't home from the 2 hr. drive from Boston but minutes before the phone rang. I saw the phone #/name on the caller ID and while I had a second of panicked type thinking, I was really waiting to hear those words..."He did fine; resting comfortably." I was not prepared for what I heard..."I'm sorry, I have some very bad news..." I literally went numb and dropped the phone. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had just left him, squealing and wiggling and kissing his Mommy on the nose.

One of the receptionists at the hospital was especially kind and caring. She called me the next day to tell me how very sad and shocked she was to hear that he was gone. She gave me some comfort though. She told me before she left work that night she went by the O.R. and gave him a kiss on the head. She said he was on a nice, soft blankie waiting for the Drs. to scrub up. As they began the procedure, she gave "Dr. Ari" a big thumbs up through the window in the door. At least I know my boy was loved in his last moments.

And with so many other furry ones here to care for, including Squeeks lonely and now friendless piggie pal Moon, luckily, I'm kept occupied.

Yesterday was tough. The office of Squeeks "regular" vet called all cheery and upbeat, asking how the little patient was doing. They were so stunned and truly felt saddened to hear that he didn't make it. I admit to having a long crying jag after that. And I still can't clean out his cage. Little bits of his lunch still lay on the floor of his timber hide a way. But, as many of you know, piggies need their play pals, so in a couple of weeks, we'll be going to visit the shelter where both Squeeks and Moon were adopted from, to find another friend for her. Thank you again for being there for me and Squeeks. What wonderful, supportive friends you are. And I know Squeeker would want me to say thank you, too. Love, Sandra

Oh Sandra, it is so hard, especially when you just don't expect it. Everything looked good, but it was not to be. Most of us would have given Squeekers the best chance for health, just like you did. All surgery is risky, but sometimes necessary. You have nothing to blame yourself for.

As it was with my parents' dog Bear, 5 yrs. old in his prime. Nine ER vets working on him to no avail. It shouldn't have happened either.

It's going to hurt so bad for a while, but that is the price we all have to pay for love.

Thinking of you constantly and sending you a big HUG from all of us.

The measure of a successful life is not how big you are or how powerful or even if you have money and lots of stuff, it's how many lives you touch and how much love you leave behind.
Our Squeeks was very very successful.

Connie is so right. Squeekers was the very first piggie I ever knew and he touched my heart and soul. I was so proud to be one of his aunties.

Sandra, you are an inspiration to us all...a role model extrodinaire. If I could be one fraction of the caring mom to my furkids that you are to yours, I will have met my goal.

My dear Sandra,
I have never had a Guinea Pig, but I have loved them all a lot since I have gotten to know Squeekers, through your loving words. He could not have been more loved, of that I am certain. And no one could have been a better, more caring mom than you.
Every time we lose one of "our own", it is a sad occasion for every pet lover on this board. Losing Squeekers is no different.
My heart breaks for you, but I am comforted to know that there are so many wonderful, precious souls in Heaven, right there with him, showing the way, and he is no longer in pain. You know that Jingles is leading the pack.
I'm sorry I have been away and didn't know of this distressing news until last night. You are in my thoughts, my friend.
