Hi Everyone,

This is my first time here at pet talk, I am so glad I found you. I am attaching an email message I received this afternoon from the rescue group I work with.

It about broke my heart. I am a renter and only have permission to foster 1 dog at a time. I would do it in a heart beat if I could.

I am hoping and praying that the email will circulate to enough people and these poor dogs will find a loving home *together*. It is better to have two many people trying to adopt them verses everyone thinking someone else will do it. I am attaching this email with permission, please if anyone can help, they don't have much time left. All information is included at the bottom of the email.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

P.S. I don't know this lady, I just feel for these dogs!

Laurie

I know there is not much hope for these guys, but i just have to try.

MESSAGE FORWARDED WITH PERMISSION

I am a 71 year old woman crippled by reumathoid
arthritis. I live in
Miami. I have a blind dog, Bobby (a rescue) who is
5-6 years old. He is inoperable, he got
blind because of congenital degeneration of the
retina. He is big, perhaps a mix of labrador, gold
colored. He is the sweetest, most intelligent
dog I have seen. My other dog, Becker (also a rescue)
is black, a German Shepherd mix, 8-9 years old.
Becker acts as Bobby's eyes and they adore each other.
Both dogs are neutered and have all the shots. I
have sold my house and have to move to
New York on April 15 to live with my son there because
I am in a wheel chair and can't be alone any longer.
I can't take the dogs with me and am desperate. I
have tried and tried but it's very difficult to find a

home for two older dogs, one of them blind. The idea
of putting them to sleep breaks
my heart. Is there any possibility of your helping
me? I'll pay for their transportation and am willing
to give a large donation or to pledge a perodical
amount to help with their expenses. If you could take
them
in, I would be so very grateful!
God Bless you!

I live in Buffalo, NY and am currently in the process of closing on a new house with a hugh fenced back yard. I could possibly take them if they could wait about a month (I currently live in an apartment with one big dog already). I will contact Maria and get more details and keep everyone informed.

Maria is currently looking for a home for them in Miami so they will not be subjected to a long trip. If she cannot find a home for them closer to Miami, she will let me know. Either way, they will not be PTS.

I heard from Maria - here is a copy of her email

Dear Clara:
I am still in Miami because the buyer was missing a paper and the
closing on
my house has been delayed for a few days. I haven't found a home but
Debbie,
a rescuer in the Orlando area, has made arrangements for them to stay
as
boarders in a place near Disney World in Winter Garden called "The Best
Little Humane Society in Central Florida". She has toured the place
herself
and was very satisfied with the results. If you hear of a good home,
please
get in touch with me or with them. If I don't find something permanent
in a
couple of months, I may send them to St. Francis, a sanctuary, where
they
have accepted them. I have been investigating and it seems to be a
reliable
place.
Thank you very much for caring. It was quite refreshing to meet so
many
people like you willing to help.
Maria

I heard back from my relative in Miami. His health is deteriorating, so his current dog Dudley is about all he can handle at this time, but he will be glad to know these two are at least safe.
