View Full Version : Bloody Nose

After walking our dogs, Heela and I took her dog Caly and Kia up to her apartment.

(She used to live above me with her fiance but decided she wanted her own place before she got married and now lives a few doors down.. but that's another story.. ;) )

Since she just moved in she has no furniture and Kia and Caly took the opportunity to play and wrestle in the open space. Things were going okay till Kia, pooped out, laid down.

Caly, who is only a year old, took the opportunity to pounce on Kia. Kia, who doesn't like to feel dominated, threw Caly off of her and went at her snapping and snarling and Caly snapped back and a fight ensued.

Of course Kia was running at me with Caly snapping at her face. I grabbed Kia's collar and Heela grabbed Caly and put her into her crate. Then Heela started screaming that Kia was bleeding.

Indeed she had a bloody nose. Suprisingly there were no cuts or scratches on either dog, just blood coming out of one of Kia's nostrils.

Kia's never had a bloody nose before and it stopped bleeding rather quickly. I just didn't know if it's something I should keep an eye on.

Her breathing is okay.

I'm just a paranoid mommy. ;)

Kim, I probably wouldn't worry too much if it stopped quickly. But how weird is that? No visible wound? Wonder is a stray claw got up in her nostril somehow.

I hope Kia will be just fine. :) We'll be thinking of both of you.

Poor Kia! I am sure she will be fine though and you have nothing to worry about. I hope this won't discourage you or her from future rendezvous with Caly and Heela!

That's a pretty good possibility Logan.

Nope! Caly came out of her crate a little while later and they started rough housing again. :p :D
